The Scoop is conveniently located on the main road in Clayton, right across from the waterfront. I wish I could have had a more positive experience here, but I was very disappointed when I came here with my family. If you are a POC- do not come here!! The woman at the counter was not friendly at all. We all felt very uncomfortable in this ice cream shop. The environment was not welcoming and we left like we had to leave quickly after sitting down. Not to mention that she kept overcharging us for the ice cream and we did not notice until after. We are a large group as it was a family trip to Clayton, so maybe the person felt overwhelmed but the pricing was definitely off. She was doing written math on a paper and was not kind when one of pointed out that she had made a mistake. read more

Young girl working today was horrible, she obviously didn't want to be there. I asked to try one of the unusual flavors and she just said NO! I chose a different flavor I thought I would like, I asked about sizes and price and she just pointed to the board. I ordered 2 scoops and got 1 1/2 scoops instead of the 2 scoops she charged me for. I handed her my card and she said if you're going to pay with that you have to go to the other register. How about you welcome people in and if you don't offer samples you say, I'm sorry we don't offer samples. And maybe before you ring someone up you ask if it's cash or credit. Would love to rate zero stars. They only had super small cups. Was willing to pay double the price for a bigger size and they refused to pour the drink in the bigger cup. Attempted to explain that All I wanted was to buy two of the smaller drinks (since evidently they can't make a larger size) and pour them into the larger cup. Then they refused to do that. Will never be back and will actively tell people to avoid them. Horrible. Horrible. read more

We went this week and decided to have ice cream for lunch. I chose the coffee and donuts sundae. It was the best sundae I have ever had! It tasted exactly like a cup of coffee with a donut on the side. Kudos to the young lady who served us who also invented this sundae! read more

Scoops is right across from the riverfront in downtown Clayton. The location is the key here - you can grab a cone of Hershey's ice-cream and walk along the river path or sit and watch the boats. Cones are reasonably priced ($2-4). There is always a line out the door, so you know it's good! read more
