2nd time dealing with this business!…read more NOT THAT WE HAVE A CHOICE! So, the Hawaii State Department of Education seemed to have done most parents a favor by initiating a School uniform policy, thus supposedly making it easier for Parents to purchase school T-shirts for the students to wear. Not a problem previously, when you could go to the Print shop and purchase one of these T-shirts for about $5 bucks a piece. And never a problem when the Print shop was open during normal business hours, making it convenient for the average working class parent to make arrangements to purchase the mandatory uniforms. And then Automatic T-shirt printing took over (or somehow got the contract) and the drama began! First off, when you google this business, just like here on Yelp, it shows they are located at the Maui Mall (70 E. Kaahumanu Avenue). THEY ARE NOT! They haven't been there in over a year, since at least the beginning of the 2015 School year! I know this from personal experience! This place is located upstairs of the Paradise Supermart, located at 207 E. Wakea Avenue in Kahului. Secondly, they are open with VERY limited hours, 4 1/2 hours a week!!! According to their signs, they are only open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. 1 1/2 hours a day, 3 days a week, and hundreds of parents are supposed to get there within that time to purchase school shirts for their kids?! WTF???!!! Third, the location SUCKS!!! The parking lot is so damn small that there is bound to be a fender bender in this place with all the anxious parents, and not to mention all of the patrons to the store below. Plus, it's not a "walk in" type business, where there is ample room for parents to enter a shop and make their purchases. It's a little room upstairs, which they restrict you from entering. You walk up to the table at the door, tell the limited employees (or owners) what school shirt you need and how many you need. They grab it for you and you MUST pay in CASH!!! No credit cards here, man! Oh, and did I mention the cost of the shirts?! $9.00 for a school shirt and $14.00 for the dry-fit P.E. shirts! Are you serious?! I'd rather pay $ 5.00 for a plain shirt from Target and get multiple usage out of it then have to pay $23.00 for 2 required shirts! It's not like you can go inside and have your child try on the shirts. This place definitely does not make it easy for you to do something like that. And, the parents will more than likely be waiting in line on the stairs, in the hot sun, while others try frantically to get their shirts before the start of school! Although the signs say to call their phone number - (808)877-4478 - if you can't make their store hours, and they will call you back to make arrangements so you can definitely get your school shirts, I did this previously and left several messages. Never a return call! I'm not sure why or how this company got the contract for the school shirts (at least for a couple of Central Maui Schools), but I would definitely have to wonder if someone in the decision making process s not being compensated for this somehow! If I had my choice for school shirts, I would definitely not buy from this business, not that we have a choice!!! Please, someone from the DOE with decision making powers, check into this!
