Because of that, it is definitely busier now, but overall the club has improved significantly after the reported $1 million renovation. There are a lot of positives here. The new equipment and machines are a major upgrade, the aesthetics are much better, and converting the old basketball court into an additional weight room was honestly a smart decision considering how crowded gyms get now. They also added Pilates classes and other premium features, which gives the club a more modern feel overall. The biggest issue is still the pool situation. While the pool itself is clean and maintained well, it is effectively unavailable from 4-7 PM every weekday because it is heavily used by a private children's swim club. For people who actually pay to use the gym and swim laps after work, that is frustrating. At minimum, they should reserve two lanes for the swim club and keep one dedicated lap lane open for adult members during those hours. A lap lane should be for lap swimming, not casual playing or groups standing around. The other issue is the plumbing and shower system. It is hard to understand how a club can spend that much money on renovations while still having such poor water pressure management in the locker room. Every time someone flushes a toilet, the shower pressure drops across all the showers at once. In a newly renovated club, that really should not be happening. Overall, though, it is still a solid gym with good equipment, a cleaner modern layout, and plenty of training options. If they fix the pool access situation and address the locker room plumbing issues, it would be an excellent location.

When I went in person to sign up for a membership I told them I had never been there before and and I had to ask for a tour. They told me none of the free perks you're supposed to get. I only found out through a friend and when I was trying to cancel my membership I had to go in person three separate times and call at least five. I also had to practically beg them for the credits you're supposed to get when you refer a friend, which just so happened to only hit my account after I was leaving for school. No one there was helpful, and I was getting spewed misinformation and due to the lack of communication from the very beginning, I was also unaware of a 12 month commitment . I would not recommend this gym to anyone just go to lifetime fitness.

He was playing in the gym before they arrived. After some time, he came out crying because one of the men took his ball and put it away. When I reported the incident, one of the male staff members apologized and retrieved the ball. While I was comforting my grandson, telling him he did nothing wrong and that adults shouldn't be selfish and treat a nine-year-old child that way, I told him to stay near me and continue playing. At that moment, an ignorant female staff member, who was passing by, interjected, saying, "You can't play with the ball in this area." This is the second incident involving her discriminatory behavior towards my family. As I was leaving, deeply disappointed by the behavior--especially since this is supposed to be a Christian establishment--I saw Joseph and informed him. He stated that she shouldn't have said anything to me, as the matter did not involve her. A few weeks after I left, I stopped by to file a formal complaint and asked to speak to Brian, the director or manager of this location. He showed no empathy and instead stated that children should not be left alone. I am 55 years old, a former teacher, and a current paralegal. I was intentionally monitoring my grandson while sitting directly outside the gym in the vending area. This place has changed from a family-friendly, community-oriented place to a worldly, non-family-friendly environment for minority families.

It is so obvious that they care about their members and take the time to get to know their members! The workouts are incredible and different from each trainer and they really help you out with technique so that you can improve every time. This is the type of workout where you get out of it what you put into it--some days I come in feeling exhausted already from a long day and try to focus on my form and then some days I come in and focus more on power and strength! If you've never tried boxing, this is definitely the place to start and keep getting an incredible workout!

After class, Rachel gave us a tour of the facility and was incredibly welcoming and friendly, just like the rest of the staff. The gym itself is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean. I especially loved the white and tan interior design--it creates a bright, upscale atmosphere. The women's locker room is impressive, featuring lockers for personal belongings, a sauna, and a cold plunge. There are also convenient water refill stations throughout the gym. One of the most unique features is the slide, which definitely adds some personality and fun to the space! There's also an outdoor workout area in the corner for anyone who prefers exercising outside. Overall, Recess offers a great combination of high-quality fitness classes, excellent amenities, and a welcoming community. I would definitely recommend checking it out.
