We retained Mr. McKinney in 2013 to help with a *very* complex adoption/custody case that stemmed…read morefrom parental abandonment in 2009. For the past 17 months Quincy has been amazing!! He was very patient through the legal process, explaining the law and our rights in such a way that it all made sense. Quincy was with us every step of the way through interrogatories, discovery, depositions, mediation, and finally on our day before the judge in December 2014. Not only did he provide exceptional legal counsel, but he was also there with support during what was an incredibly stressful time. He listened to everything we said and mapped a plan for success based on the most pertinent evidence that would fulfill the requirements of the law. He spoke with our witnesses at length so they would know what to expect during court; and in the days before our hearing, he took the time to make sure we were well prepared with what to expect as well. On the day of our hearing, he was incredibly prepared. He knew our case as it pertained to the law backward and forward. He gave emotional encouragement during what turned into a very long and mentally exhausting day, and during the hearing he presented cases to the judge that set precedence for the matter at hand. When all the evidence had been presented, when all the witnesses had been heard, and when closing arguments were all said and done, the end of the day brought closure and security for our family in an ordeal that had lasted way too long. In the end, Quincy helped us win the adoption - the judge ruled the evidence "clear and convincing" - and our son is safe. Not only was Quincy completely professional, but he was personal, too. We felt like we mattered to him as people, not just as another client paying a bill. When he heard the specifics of our case, he genuinely wanted to help. I think that's pretty rare in an attorney but we found it refreshing and very reassuring. Quincy McKinney is definitely one of the good ones! My only regret is that we didn't find him sooner! Also, the ladies in the office were a dream to work with - they took every bit of paper evidence we provided (there was a LOT!) and organized it to create a succinct timeline of events. Katie and Kate are very kind and friendly. No matter what kind of situation you are going through, or how many questions you might have, they are always willing to help. We will be using McKinney and McKinney again when it's time to draft our Will, and if we ever know of someone who needs a brilliant, compassionate attorney, we will be recommending Quincy McKinney!

At first…read moreI thought his directness was something I could appreciate but I is not him being direct, it is him not caring to listen and cut you off. He was never prepared for court. He would depend on me to give bring him everything he needed and ask me what I wanted to do in court. It never really felt like he cared about what he did and he simply did not put any effort into it. Every time I called a new assistant would answer the phone, I think it says a lot when you can't keep help around. The last time we were in court he made no effort to stop the other side. From the stand I actually had to look at him and ask him if he was going to step in. Finally it was the JUDGE that stepped in on my behalf. Only call this man if you do not care if you are properly represented.

After a brief overview, an appointment was made with Attorney Mason for a week out. At the appointment time, I got our time zones mixed up. She was accommodating and we had our initial 1/2 consultation. Probate is messy and long, so we have not yet engaged with her, but her initial advice seemed sound.

Zac and his legal team within the office all worked together cohesively to help me accomplish the…read moredesired results for my divorce. This wasn't an easy one, either, as the person I was divorcing wasn't in the state. In fact, they were about 1,300 away, so finding this individual took some effort. They hired a serving company to have them served, but this company was unable to find them during the times they made attempts.....SOOO....UGH!!! But, Anne informed me that her and the girls in the office would do some modern-day gum-shooing to help locate this individual. They did so, and after another couple of weeks were able to make contact in a non-offensive manner as to not create any more strain on an already tense situation. They even functioned as a neutral point of contact so we could finish settling our negotiations. It's law, and it's a divorce, but I feel the price I paid was worth it, because I was treated in a respectful, and valued manner. Zac, or any one of the persons in his office were always cheerful and accommodating which left me feeling like I had chosen the correct lawyer to accommodate my unfortunate situation. Hopefully, I won't need them again anytime soon, but if I ever needed him for anything else, I wouldn't hesitate to give him a ring!
