Mark's Greenhouse sold me 3 scoops of raised bed soil on Thursday, with promises to deliver on Monday. They had none on their lot even as they charged me for some, and now they have no idea when the soil will arrive. Customers have been inconvenienced - last week I had the possibility of getting a friend with a pickup to go to Barber's for some of their soil. And, now I will have to do that anyway on my own. I am a 74-year old woman. This is not good for my health. Customer service rep was curt and threw her problem in dealing with her supplier back at me. Since I moved away from the Eastside a couple of years ago I don't really come here much anymore…read more Overall, the Roses chain has fell off since the 1990's and this store is no exception. The Walmart up the road has taken away much of the customers, but this store still has it's fair niche of shoppers. One thing that strikes my fancy is the fact that the store is definitely dated in terms of its appearance. This store has been at this exact location since the late 1960s and it is really showing its age. Maintenance issues aside, this store is not bad as far as prices are concerned. There's still some great deals to be had, especially in their furniture and home living department. This is the store that I go to first if I need to buy a lamp, clock, chairs, etc. Some departments are more well-stocked than others. I personally wouldn't shop here for clothing unless it is work-related, but they do have a wide selection of clothes for both men and women. The toys section is usually full. Pets department is hit or miss. Same can be said for OTC pharmacy and health and beauty aids. Electronics section is downright pitiful though. The store is never crowded, so shopping is generally a breeze here. The employees are not very social in regards to helping out. But that is a minor gripe though. It's far from the best looking store but I will always be back if I need something for my living room or bedroom.
