His remarks astounded me. Not a problem we have a ramp, I could pull you up in your chair or we will open the back door for you. I went in via the back door had one of there all day breakfasts at £4 well it not only filled me but was well cooked. The girl serving was so cheerful 7 helpful I wish I could have took her home. This building is one of the oldest surviving in Stockton with a stone clad front from the castle. It has a great yard at the back called, of course, Green Dragon Yard, which is essentially a passageway linking several other areas and the Georgian Theatre, where bands perform. The dragon is a Sam Smiths pub so the beer is cheap and quite good quality, and you can spend many an hour here getting a bit merry, if you can avoid all the rough types who enjoy making comments. Tables with people in business attire, several bridesmaid parties, tons of women dressed to the nines, with a definite slant towards the preppy. In fact, we definitely missed the full face of makeup and heels memo, since we were in casual clothes and a majority of the people here were in nice clothes. And wow, they really have a menu for everyone. You'll find burgers, fish, steak, sandwiches, salads, soups, pastas, and a whole bunch of other food. I opted for a wrap, and it was pretty mediocre. But we did get our first taste of Strongbow Dark Fruit, a delicious cider you can't find in the states. We have Strongbow, just not the Dark Fruit variety. To me, the things I remember most about being in the UK are the foods, this beer from Wolf Rock, and that Strongbow Dark Fruit. THE VERDICT: All in all, it was a busy pub that is definitely worth checking out since it's such a popular spot for the locals, but since nothing else was open for food, it was better than nothing. The building itself is very old so has lovely low ceilings inside, which gives it a very cosy feeling. There is a bar and two lounge rooms, with additional seating in the corridor at the back and a good-sized beer garden for the summer and the smokers! The pub has many regular customers, friendly bar staff and a good atmosphere. The drinks prices are very reasonable, and there are some snacks on offer behind the bar. I would recommend this pub if you want some friendly conversation and a good laugh, although if you have any kind of issue with bikers I would stay away as they make up a large part of the clientele (and a very pleasant bunch they are too!)

There are several TVs around the pub that show Live Sky Sports so you can be sure to catch the Match! There's a wide range or beers, lagers, wines and spirits available and although it's not the cheapest pub around, it's not too expensive and they always serve a decent pint. There's a small room that used to be home to the pool table but now has a few extra tables and a dart board. The loss of the pool table is a bad point but the atmosphere and friendly staff help to ease the pain! There's regular quizzes on throughout the week for which they use the larger back bar room, which is open during busy periods. I understand they have recently started serving hot food too, along with the regular bar snacks.
