Rates are $3 up to an hour, $2 each hour after, with a $12 daily maximum. Only the cinema gives validation ($3 off).

There is street parking in the area but you have to be willing to walk about 8 minutes (a few blocks). Be sure to read the signs for any street cleaning or parking restrictions. There are also some meters if the street parking is full. Also, if you take a Pilates class at Homebody Studios, they validate structure parking for 90 minutes. That should be enough time. Don't forget to get your QR code for the validation.

When I entered at 8:30 pm there was an attendant at the gate. When I left at 8:50pm there was no attendant and putting my validated ticket into the machine at the gate made me pay $2. Pressed on the call button resulted in no response. The next week on a Friday, I pull in around 8:25pm and there's an attendant there so I told her about my experience before (validated ticket with no attendant) and she was not very helpful but said that there needs to be an attendant for a validated ticket to work. So, I asked how long she'll be there until, which she said 10pm. I left 15-20 minutes after entering the structure. As I was pulling up the gate, I SEE HER WALKING AWAY FROM THE GATE. I waive at her with my ticket and she looks at me and shakes her head (sorry I can't help you) as she continues to walk away. WTF! This parking structure is absolutely ridiculous. The "complimentary 15 minutes" is also a joke because no one can get in and out in under 15 minutes. Don't go to the Platform if you have to use the structure to park.

Unfortunately not all businesses validate and parking is kinda expensive for this area/location. Nice variety of businesses between medical offices, retailers, restaurants, cinema, kids play area, Whole Foods, etc. Free Market concept is very cool. Love some of the small businesses that have been incorporated into the space. Unfortunately, a number of the retail spaces seem to succumb to significant turnover. All in all, nice place to have in the community.

Anchor stores Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom closed recently. They do have upscale tenants like Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, COACH and AllSaints. There are also places to eat like Din Tai Fung and Cheesecake Factory. The Cayton Children's Museum is a fun entertainment option for kids. Santa Monica Place is three levels and has a L.A. Metro Rail stop nearby.

Since Nordstrom moved out it's just so eerie. Not a lot going on. I happened to come in as I was checking out a potential new gym which is coming in - Club Studio - and they're going to be pretty huge and take the old Bloomingdales space, people were super friendly and helpful so hopefully that will help but Santa Monica is gonna need a lot more investment in order to drive the people back to shop in person because there is really no good selection of stores of value - just a few boutiques and some brands like Nike or Johnny Was or Paige. Din Tai Fung and Cheesecake on the top floor which is great but other than that... let's hope for more stores in the future.

After grabbing a bite, I usually grab a drink or ice cream and sit on a bench and enjoy the day . The point always has children running around, and is very family oriented. While I appreciate that it's free, the area for it is so small that unless you're one of the first to arrive, you won't have a view of the performers. And the aerial hoop lady was disappointing. Her athleticism would have been on display better had she not been on a propped up ring. Parking is also scarce for an outdoor concert. While it was great to see only two empty storefronts, most businesses sell overpriced to super overpriced products to stay afloat. The mall is dated-looking, with a defunct water fountain, but the open second floor bathed in natural sunlight gives off soothing, chill vibes. The food court has about 9 places, mostly Korean but also a Vietnamese and Japanese katsu options. We ate fresh bi bim naeng myun (very chewy buckwheat noodles), ja jang myun (chewy noodles with black bean sauce and a nice amount of minced beef or pork), and fish cake on a skewer. Some places charge for a to go container and the cranky employee at the naeng myun place (the name's only in Korean, Kang San Myun Ok, refused to sell me to go in separate containers. Excuse me for wanting to separate the chewy noodles from the broth, as the noodles will lose elasticity from a long drive. The food court had many televisions broadcasting a World Cup match. There eating area is spacious with tables are cleared and wiped quickly. The outdoor dining are was closed the day we went. The supermarket is huge, organized and has the viral fruit-shaped ice cream that I adore, for $4.99 each. There's a Cake House bakery with mildly sweet Asian pastries and hot beverages. Their cakes are very expensive and beautiful. Cake slices are also sold. The mall has women's clothes, skin care, a bank, bookstore, children's toys, handbags and jewelry, and knick-knacks or collectibles. There's even a flower shop on a parking level right by the supermarket entrance. We were surprised to spend about 4 hours there. It's easy to spend a lot of time here as the parking is free!
