There was also a recent pop up related to Pokemon in the middle of the mall which I think is really cool. I think there's a good amount of restrooms to find. Parking is free and there's lights to show if there's any open spots. I think one evening it was super dark and I was shocked that there wasn't any lighting and I found that to be pretty dangerous, but hopefully it's just because of the changing times of day. It's very family friendly and a good child playground, and also close by the 405 freeway which is very handy. Every time I'm here, I'm on a limited time to shop and browse!!!

The next week on a Friday, I pull in around 8:25pm and there's an attendant there so I told her about my experience before (validated ticket with no attendant) and she was not very helpful but said that there needs to be an attendant for a validated ticket to work. So, I asked how long she'll be there until, which she said 10pm. I left 15-20 minutes after entering the structure. As I was pulling up the gate, I SEE HER WALKING AWAY FROM THE GATE. I waive at her with my ticket and she looks at me and shakes her head (sorry I can't help you) as she continues to walk away. WTF! This parking structure is absolutely ridiculous. The "complimentary 15 minutes" is also a joke because no one can get in and out in under 15 minutes. Don't go to the Platform if you have to use the structure to park.

Unfortunately not all businesses validate and parking is kinda expensive for this area/location. Nice variety of businesses between medical offices, retailers, restaurants, cinema, kids play area, Whole Foods, etc. Free Market concept is very cool. Love some of the small businesses that have been incorporated into the space. Unfortunately, a number of the retail spaces seem to succumb to significant turnover. All in all, nice place to have in the community.

I happened to come in as I was checking out a potential new gym which is coming in - Club Studio - and they're going to be pretty huge and take the old Bloomingdales space, people were super friendly and helpful so hopefully that will help but Santa Monica is gonna need a lot more investment in order to drive the people back to shop in person because there is really no good selection of stores of value - just a few boutiques and some brands like Nike or Johnny Was or Paige. Din Tai Fung and Cheesecake on the top floor which is great but other than that... let's hope for more stores in the future.

While it was great to see only two empty storefronts, most businesses sell overpriced to super overpriced products to stay afloat. The mall is dated-looking, with a defunct water fountain, but the open second floor bathed in natural sunlight gives off soothing, chill vibes. The food court has about 9 places, mostly Korean but also a Vietnamese and Japanese katsu options. We ate fresh bi bim naeng myun (very chewy buckwheat noodles), ja jang myun (chewy noodles with black bean sauce and a nice amount of minced beef or pork), and fish cake on a skewer. Some places charge for a to go container and the cranky employee at the naeng myun place (the name's only in Korean, Kang San Myun Ok, refused to sell me to go in separate containers. Excuse me for wanting to separate the chewy noodles from the broth, as the noodles will lose elasticity from a long drive. The food court had many televisions broadcasting a World Cup match. There eating area is spacious with tables are cleared and wiped quickly. The outdoor dining are was closed the day we went. The supermarket is huge, organized and has the viral fruit-shaped ice cream that I adore, for $4.99 each. There's a Cake House bakery with mildly sweet Asian pastries and hot beverages. Their cakes are very expensive and beautiful. Cake slices are also sold. The mall has women's clothes, skin care, a bank, bookstore, children's toys, handbags and jewelry, and knick-knacks or collectibles. There's even a flower shop on a parking level right by the supermarket entrance. We were surprised to spend about 4 hours there. It's easy to spend a lot of time here as the parking is free! An irate customer asking specifically for her? Who knows? But before leaving, she introduced me to Sonia, gave her the breakdown, and wished me well. It was seamless, and Sonia was on point. While I was at the register, Sarai popped in to ask if the mission was accomplished. I felt like I was at a Beverly Hills store where personalized service meets a hefty receipt. The only reason I might have been tempted to leave 4.5 stars is because I could not get the damn customer service "scan me" sheet to work on any device. But that's not on the floor salespeople, so bravo.

I had already spent nearly two hours looking for an outfit for a last-minute business event and was honestly about to leave empty-handed when she offered to help me. She then spent over an hour with me, going back and forth to the fitting room countless times, pulling pieces, helping me put outfits together, and even making sure everything stayed within my budget. She was incredibly patient, kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping me find something I felt good in. It honestly felt like having a personal shopper! I walked in stressed and ready to give up, and walked out feeling taken care of and excited about what I found. The service at this location has been great overall, but Chema made this visit exceptional.
