Before we adopted our fur baby, I did not even realize doggy daycare was even a thing lol. Our pup doesn't have separation anxiety (he's still not fully house trained and would get into stuff he's not supposed to when we're not looking), but we feel bad keeping him in the crate for more than 2-3 hours. So he's been a frequent customer of The Royal Pet Resort and Spa. We haven't tried any other doggy daycare, but we love this place! First and foremost, because our fur baby loves it! He can't wait to get out of the car every time we pull into the drive thru to drop him off. He would either pass out in the backseat every time we pick him up, or gets so pooped out and nap the whole evening all the way until bedtime lol. Secondly, they have 3 spacious outdoor sections for small, large, and i guess medium dogs. The areas are very well maintained with beautiful turf. There's always at least 1 and up to 3 staff in every section at all time to keep an eye on all the doggies and immediately clean up after them. When it rains or after about 4pm, all the dogs would get moved indoor (the small and large dogs are still segregated). They have cameras throughout the facility. With the exceptions of a few blind spots, you can watch your fur baby all day if you choose to. Not saying that's what I'd do sometimes lol. It's also a huge plus that they're part of Richter's Animal Hospital right next door. You can drop your pup off at the daycare and they would take care of any types of service your pup needs while he/she is there. The one kind-of-a-downside is in order for your pup to stay here, he/she would need to be up to date with all the shots and requirements. You can do a one stop shop and get everything done at Richter's Animal Hospital when you drop them off, or go to your prefered vet. They're pretty strict about this. However, it helps put me at ease knowing my baby would be surrounded by healthy pups. You can drop your dog off for a full day evaluation (their first time here) at a discounted price of $18. It's $28/day after that unless you purchase any of the passes for up to $23ish/day discount. The great thing is you don't need to use them all consecutively. We have been coming for almost a year and had great service with Monze. She is always so kind and does a great job with doodles! However, the front desk staff have a tendency to be rude and condescending. They take notes of the way you speak to them without your knowledge so it can be used against you later. When speaking with the manager regarding a poor grooming service that occurred on Friday, she mentioned these notations, but would not provide me with the quotes and simply left it as "you know the way you speak to staff, so we don't need to go over it." Actually I have no idea what she is talking about, but apparently they have been documenting lies since January. Yet, their staff can speak to you however they want without consequence. If you have a grooming service done and your dog comes back with a cut that you did not ask for, or even is what you asked for (not in my case), but a sloppy job was done don't expect any sort of refund. It is a business very much all about the money and employees. Expect if you have an issue of any kind they will take the staffs' side. This grooming issue (not Monze who groomed) was a staff miscommunication, but I'm the one blamed for it. While speaking with the manager I let her know who I have had issues with in the past at the front desk, but did mention the 2 front desk staff on Friday were kind and professional and she said "that is what we pride ourselves on." Yet, I've had more bad encounters with the front desk staff being rude and condescending more than I have had good encounters. The moral of the story, watch your back if you choose to go here and don't expect them to take the customer's side with anything. Make sure to always go in with sunshine and rainbows coming out your butt, so nothing gets documented against you even when you might have had a hard day or are pregnant and just feel terrible all the time and that "attitude" is just you being you. They can't see past themselves. Good luck Don't let Michelle groom your dog! She leaves the dog uneven and then blames the dog for being old. She doesn't clip the nails evenly either. My dog stayed there for 12 days over the 2021 holiday. He came home with severe signs of pressure wounds, yeast, and bacterial infections all over his legs. I took him to the vet on-site and they waived the exam fee. The vet told me the issue was related to allergies due to pollen (please note it's below freezing at night here). They charged me $355 for antibiotics and antibacterial meds which doesn't sound to me like a pollen reaction. It sounds to me like he was sitting in his own urine and feces for an excessive amount of time. I questioned the charges and the manager proceeded to become combative with me instead of seeking to understand my position. I would not recommend this place. Today I visited with my mom to take her dog into an eval day for daycare. My dog doesn't really need daycare as he's a little bit older and has moved around a lot and spent many years attending daycare on a regular basis I was really just taking my dog in along with hers for moral support. The first red flag was when leading up to the first day of daycare we were informed that my dog didn't have any vaccines or medical records on file of any kind which was odd because he's recently been there for a full exam by the vets where his entire vaccine history was provided. Second red flag. After arranging for the shot records to be sent over and reviewed we received confirmation that everything was good to go for drop off but when we arrived I was told that my dog would be receiving not only every vaccine but also another annual vet exam even though he had just gotten one from them. When attempting to ask for more information to understand what the disconnect was about his shot records it became strikingly clear that neither of the representatives at the front knew what was going on at all with this dog. When I corrected them on some of these misunderstandings they just over explained how this is all routine and they just need certain information. So incredibly happy I found this place! I've had some tough luck with Vets and spent so much money recently. My puppy needed a vet who knew what was wrong with him and the Vet's here knew exactly how to treat his epilepsy. I wasn't talked into further testing or spending money on something I didn't need to necessarily have done. He told me how to treat it and gave me recommendations on cheaper alternatives. One word...Awesome! I moved from Hawaii and needed a long-term kennel for my dog. After calling and talking with the front desk I emailed the vet records and they informed me of what shots my dog should get before we arrive so it could be a seamless transition. Some shots were not offered in Hawaii, so upon arrival they administered the needed vaccinations so my dog could be kennel approved. This was a place recommended to me by colleagues at the new work place. Thank God! Richter Animal Hospital took care of my German Shepherd as if she were a queen. This place has a boujie feel to it, and my dog is boujie so...it was a match made in heaven. My dog had it so good that I was thinking about checking into the kennel myself. They were very flexible, with my arrival dates changing multiple times, and upon arrival provided a thorough examination. I even got a call from, Dr. Richter himself, to let me know how Stella was doing during her stay. The staff are top notch and special thanks to Bradley for giving my Stella special attention. Since it was a long stay, they hooked her up with some perks. All, I will say is that she was pawing in style. I definitely recommend Richter Animal Hospital, I live 30 minutes away and wouldn't hesitate to take her back for future stays or visits to the vet. We love Richter Animal Hospital! Our golden retriever tore his ACL and we were dreading doing the surgery. I almost backed out several times but Dr. Randolph and Lauren patiently answered our hundreds of questions and sent a lot of helpful info to help us make our decision. They were extremely professional but also super friendly and made us feel comfortable. We also found that they had better prices compared to some of the other vets we spoke with. I hope my review will inform others of the SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERNS RICHTER PUT MY PETS IN AND YOURS!! On day 4 of boarding, I received a call that my one dog had diarrhea with a bloody stool. I was told that they felt the stress of being boarded caused this. On day 6, I noticed that one dog was left inside while the other was in daycare. While there was no reason for this, and it was already discussed not separating the two dogs to avoid additional stress, the response I received for why this was done was alarming. The Resort Manager (Natasha) started with- were you not called this morning regarding our concern with your other dog having Kennel Cough? I replied in shock- no, and if that is the case, why is my other dog out in the daycare exposing all the other dogs? She 'claimed' he wasn't, but then I told her, I could clearly see on the cameras that he was outside in daycare. She also had the audacity to tell me that Kennel Cough can lay dormant for 2 weeks, and my dog probably had it before coming to boarding. I told her that my dogs have not been around any other dogs other than at Richter, and for her to even to imply this was disrespectful and downright rude. There was a lot said in this conversation, but to cut to the chase, it was clear she didn't have any regard for my dog's safety, and EVERYONE ELSE'S DOGS BY EXPOSING THEM TO WHAT WAS THOUGHT TO BE KENNEL COUGH. At this point, we ended our vacation early and drove through the night to get home as quickly as possible and pick up our babies. I am happy to report that my dog doesn't have Kennel Cough, as another vet determined that the irritation was from someone pulling hard on his leash and/or neck. But sadly, this isn't the first time this has happened at Richter. I also received a voicemail from Richter about 4 hours after I had picked them up. I was kind of hopeful that it would be a call checking on how my pets were doing, but no- it was a voicemail letting me know they forgot to add an additional charge and that they needed my authorization to charge my card on file. Really people?! I stopped by Richter today to pay my bill, cancel all of my future services and speak to Natasha. I had a little hope that she would have something positive to say that would help me see that she learned something from the incident, but sadly- she was the same unprofessional with a lack of care that she was on the phone. She also asked me; what I thought she should have learned from this experience. WOW, Richter, it's sad that you have someone as incapable as she is in a management role. After being a client for nearly 10 years- I had to cut ties with this facility. My reasonings above are enough to make this decision, but I also understand that mistakes can be made as long as they are learned from and handled professionally. Seeing that Richter has trusted Natasha to be the Resort Manager - I can only suspect that her unprofessionalism and lack of care could rub off on her other employees. If this continues, I see a significant loss in business for Richter. In my opinion, Bryan and Stacey should be running the facility. They have been long-term employees that have always shown me and my pets the utmost courtesy and respect. Because of them and Monze, I have paid far more than most facilities for services and stayed as long as I have. read more

Re: HORRIBLE TREATMENT TODAY - Grooming Services We have been using their boarding services since they opened, and they are pretty good; however, it's totally different story when it comes to the grooming. Long story short: - attempted to drop dog off for scheduled appointment - groomer (Carmen) rudely told my husband dog was "matted" (this is an extremely well loved mini schnauzer with very busy parents - sorry don't have time to brush every day) and said she would have to shave him - husband didn't want that, just wanted a low cut but she wouldn't let him speak and continued to berate him about how since he hasn't seen a groomer since November and since he wears a coat in the winter that's why he's "matted". Tangled, yes. Matted? No. - husband left highly upset and offended I called to speak to the manager (Alyssa) and she proceeded to explain to me that in view of the accounts received from her staff and the video (no audio) that she takes their side. I told her that if my husband became visibly upset it was not without cause as she was verbally insulting and disrespectful. I told her you cannot read someone's tone on a non-audio video. She proceeded to refuse to take accountability for her staff and explain her perspective from her staff. She basically said that me and my husband were LIARS. NO APOLOGY AND NO OFFER TO CORRECT THE SITUATION WAS OFFERED. The last thing I want to be subject to as a disappointed customer is a 20 minute lecture about how Carmen has been there 10 years, she has never had any complaints against her, etc. Poor managerial/customer service skills that are not conducive to an effective business relationship at the least! After 20 minutes of discussion, I told her I understood her position, wished we received some acknowledgment from her for the horrible customer service experience, thanked her for her time and ended the call. It's kind of hard to review this place for me since an old friend of mine works here but I'll try... So, putting that aside I'll tell you what I experienced. My first impression is that this clinic is beautiful. The front is nicely landscaped, and the interior is inviting. But I'm also judging a location that's brand new (Grand Opening was Nov. 13th, 2010 and you see what date my review is). The staff was very courteous even when they were busy with other customers (acknowledged me soon after I walked in). Check-In is painless. If you're a new client (like myself), just bring a copy of your pet's shot records and fill out a short form for contact information (that's it). Later when I picked up my dog (who was in a great mood), my friend gave me a tour of the facility. If you're familiar with the PetsHotel at PetSmart then you've got the basic idea of what it's like here (but there are some added benefits to boarding here instead of a PetsHotel). There are suites for dogs (with televisions, beds and apparently web cams - so you can keep an eye on your pet while you're away). And they offer an enclosed backyard (with tall wooden fences) to give your dog someplace to run around. I particularly liked the cat boarding area (which provides an outside view for your cat). Hopefully they have something out there to entice birds, squirrels and other small woodland creatures to gather by that window so the cats will have something to watch (other then an empty yard). Overall, I enjoyed the experience there and will likely return for future boarding and grooming needs. read more

I started to bring my super hyper puppy Bear here for daycare. He LOVES it sooooo much! At the stop light he already knows where we are and he loses it. He used to get so excited he'd be a bit out of control but since coming to daycare and being social and playing with other dogs his behavior has improved significantly! The staff are so caring and excellent. We've also been able to just drop him off for daycare and they'll take him to the next building over for any wellness visits he needs. It's so convenient especially since we had a newborn baby & it's difficult to go out and do small errands with the dogs. He's gotten his haircut there with Mac too and he looked just so cute! After visiting several facilities to board our dog for an overnight stay, we choose this facility. We booked a suite with access to video so we could see Zeus, that is what was advertised to us. We tried repeatedly to view him, but kept getting an error message that the camera was offline. We called, emailed, no success with either. My family and I arrived at 3:59 to retrieve Zeus on Mother's Day, to our horror, he reeked of urine. My son was an emotional wreck and wanted to return. I emailed them photographic evidence of the urine around Zeus's neck. We had to immediately bath him, time stamped photos. The manager offered us a full refund, which I told her that was not what I desired. I wanted to see the video of Zeus when he was there, showing me he went on 5 walks and was in the suite. She told me she would send the video after reviewing it, but later called my husband to say she could not send it for privacy reasons. Not sure what privacy when Zeus should have been in the suite alone. Please avoid this place. read more

I'm sure this place is great if your dog is low maintenance, but for higher maintenance dogs who need a little extra, this place ain't it. First stay here, my dog was incorrectly fed and the staff lied to their manager about it until confronted with solid evidence. Gave them a second chance and got a room with a webcam so I could keep tabs (idk about anyone else, but if I'm burned once I'm going to be on high alert if I give you a second chance). Her first full day in this room I started watching the webcam in the lunch window (11AM-2PM allegedly). By 2PM my dog hadn't gotten her lunch so I had to call the front office to ask if they were going to feed her, at which point she became a priority. When I confronted the manager about this, she played it off as being busy that day. Here's a word of advice: dogs (especially dogs who haven't been to your facility much) will be anxious when they stay without their owner at a new place that reminds them of the shelter they once stayed in. You should be pulling out all the stops to try and create as much comfort and predictability so they won't be scared to go there in the future. If you're feeding meals at variable/inconsistent times each day, the dog is going to associate your facility with uncertainty. Over this whole debacle, the manager had the audacity to claim I was just experiencing confirmation bias. Let's do a reader survey: If lunch is generally served between 11 and 2, and your pet hasn't been fed by the end of that time frame, and you have to call to remind the staff to feed it, is that negligence on the part of the staff or just the customer being hypervigilant? Would you be left wondering what would've happened if you hadn't called? I know I was left wondering that. read more

I first visited the pet resort to get a tour, even though they were busy they took time to show me around and answered all my questions. When my vet moved from his practice I decided to change to Richter, they were close to home and I was impressed by their willingness to answer all my questions when I toured. I took Boudroux to them to get his neutering done, they found two shots my previous vet missed that were important, took his blood to make sure he would be ok in surgery and did a scraping on his skin as he has rashes from fleas, ants, grass, the air....who knows. They called me when he woke up and let me know he did great, the vet called, not the receptionist. When I picked him up they went through all the instructions, gave me some medicated shampoo for him and let me know he was pretty good during his visit. Boo is a puppy still, very active and has not learned his manners yet. (we work on it daily) The next day they called to see how he was. I recommend this vet, and his business. Me and my wife owned a dog training and boarding school for 30 years and sold it a year ago . We needed to find a vet to take care of our four dogs so we started using Richter. When we first went we told them we gave our own shots and provided receipts which they said where fine. We have since used them for a couple additional office visits. We called for cost to neuter or puppy and told them weight of 50lbs and was told 380.00 which was 100.00 more than anyone else we called but we decided they where close and we had used them before. When we took the puppy in on the day of his surgery the told use the shots ( which where fine in the past weren't acceptable and all needed redone. There scale magically weighed our dog at 52lb and our price went up to 580.00. This is the most over priced clinic in town and the bait and switch was completely unethical. Best vets and staff around. I have been using RAH for years now and I have never had one issue! I personally own 7 dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs so needless to say we have experienced a wide variety of incidents over the years. All of which they have handled with amazing bed side manner and the best ways possible. The one incident that sticks out the most for me though was the loss of my best friend~my 11 year old Bull Mastiff Bully Bully! He was MY first dog to ever have to let go and I knew that it would be the hardest decision I would ever make! I was a vet tech for years before so I had gone through the whole process before but on the other side! As I sat in the room with my Bully and his head in my lap the staff slowly came in one at a time with teary eyes and gave my boy kisses and reassured me that everything would be ok and that there will be no more pain. As Dr.McDaniel came in for us to say our final goodbyes she shared numerous tears with me as Bully crossed over the rainbow bridge. The way that they all handled my sweet boy made my heart smile. They helped me make ceramic paw prints and truly made the situation 100 times better then what it could have been. For this once specific incident I will always be loyal to the RAH staff. On another note Dr. Richter has done several surgeries for my kids that most vets would refer over to the Surgery centers! This I appreciate more than anything. The fact that he is capable and comfortable with performing surgeries that are considered advanced is proof that he is up to date with the current technology of veterinary medicine. He has a true understanding of how much my dogs mean to me and never makes me feel like I am doing anything excessive. He never pushes for unnecessary test and knows exactly how aggressive I want to be with treatments! I highly recommend this place to any and everyone who wants the absolute best care for their pet. Do not take your dogs to get groomed here. We brought our elderly dogs for a bath and asked over and over that they give our Newfoundland plenty of breaks. I could tell the girl was had no empathy what so ever for the needs of my dog and I should have taken him home then, but decided to follow through since Dr. Richter has deep compassion for pets - and would only hire the best. Well that was a mistake, my dog came home with serious problems, couldn't even walk because of the neglect he received - zero extra care and zero breaks. This is unacceptable! Also, we got two dogs bathed and it ended up costing us 450 dollars, really??? Outrageous, especially since the care was poor, but also, our newfie came home with matted hair, knots still all through his hind and front and underneath, it's ridiculous that someone could be so disappointing in all aspects of grooming and caring for animals. read more

RAH has been my vet for nearly 3 years now and I cannot say good enough things! Each of the doctors there are amazing to work with, I have been nothing but pleased with their care for my babies. Dr. Richter and Dr. Randolph are amazing and they treat my dogs as if they were their own.
