The Royal Oak is a centrally located pub in Harrow Town Centre, right between the two shopping centres (St George's and St Ann's).
Management was changed roughly 5 years ago, and was formerly known as the Rat and Parrot. Since the Rat and Parrot days, the reputation has improved drastically.
The pub offers a lunch and dinner menu, with regular deals on drinks. Recent deals on drinks include the Cider Festival running from mid-May to the beginning of June, which offer 4 bottles of cider for £10 smashing deal.
Dishing up, large hearty meals, The Royal Oak is a splendid place to order food and a nice refreshing drink on a summer's day, or even a winter's day, as the pub has large panal windows to allow a cool breeze in the summer and heating to cosy you in during the winter months.
For all the sports fans out there; the pub has 4 widescreen televisions and a large projector, that shows all the major sporting events including rugby and football. Also, there should be no qualms about avid supporters of any team taking residence in The Royal Oak, as there isn't a specific crowd of supporters that dominate the pub, and there has rarely been any supporter related disturbances in the pub since the new management was acquired.
The interior is very warm and well-kept. Also, they have heavenly comfortable sofas and armchairs around the place fantastic for chilling out having a drink with friends or family.
The only thing that realy lets the pub down is their toilet maintenance they do not have toilet roll holders, and sometimes do not even have toilet rolls in every cubicle. The toilets could do with a spot of redecoration and improvement.
Lastly, they have a house dog, a friendly white Labrador that causes no trouble and wonders around the outdoor drinking area. read more
