Located in the village of Andoversford, but just off the A40, is this lovely traditional country pub. It is also an inn and has a large eating area on 2 floors. The main room is large and yet cosy with various types of seating and a large L-shaped bar. There is a wood burning fireplace and all sorts of interesting items on the walls.
The bar stocks a wide range of drinks. The food selection is varied, from traditional fare (locally sourced in many cases) to interesting variations on a theme. The last time I was there, I had a lovely duck dinner which had amazing potatoes as a side. They have a standard menu, daily specials and a holiday menu.
There is a large carpark to the rear and a small beer garden for the summer (as well as a sheltered area for smokers). The toilets are modern and clean.
I've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed with my selection. The staff are very friendly and give it an even more homely feel. read more
