Great quiz, good food, terrible service! Real lack of attention to detail and uninterested staff. What a let down.

Tavern is great for many reasons as you'll read in other reviews. Cool conservatory style outside seating little outside huts, table tennis. Nice bunch of people/regulars. We went on open mic night which was great and sitting outside in the conservatory (which sound cold but isn't!) meant it didn't really disturb us. The food was great, although a little on the Luke warm side which was a shame. The staff were great, funny and interactive. The only weird thing really was that one of the group members went up to the bar to order. They said its table service and wouldn't take the order. Well.... No one came to the table, until we had to call them and then they never really came back. I think they'd be better suited just sticking to the pub tradition of goof up to the bar to order. Seemed very bizarre to offer table service... But not really offer it properly.

The staff is very nice, they have 2 terraces where you can have something to drink or eat and loads of TVs to watch the sports. They also have live music with indie bands who play during some weekends (but not all of them, check the schedule!). Food is also really good. They have some snacks like chicken nuggets, sweet fried potatoes and then hamburgers, meat or salads. You can also pop over during Sunday's because they have an amazing Sunday roast!

You will get a warm Irish welcome from the moment you walk in. We were there to watch a match. The pub is a great venue for sports, having loads of screens around the bar so you will always be able to see whereever you are and a back room with a giant screen. In particular if you are looking to watch Irish sport, GAA or Munster rugby this is the place to go - for Munster fans this is the new South London base of the Munster Supporters Club. After the match was over we stayed on to enjoy the craic. The pub has a great beer garden and best of all the beer is cheap - two pints for less than £7, an absolute bargain!!! Later in the night there was a fantastic band who had us all up dancing. There was also a man selling oysters and guinness, of which we indulged more than we should have. Overall we had a fantastic night and I can't wait to go back again - highly recommended!

It has recently (just before Christmas)…read morebeen taken over by new owners who have transformed it from a shabby (and slightly dodgy) establishment into a beautiful, modern and friendly family pub. Even dogs are allowed! The decor is comfortable and fabulous, the food is good value and very tasty (they do a range of superb pizzas and tapas or mezze-style snacks). The owners and staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to be polite and ensure you have a good time. They also have a great selection of drinks with some lovely wines, again, all reasonably-priced. The best thing about this place, though, is the fact it feels like a comfortable living room at a mate's house. They have plenty of sofas, a log fire and a pile of board games to complete the vibe. It gets fairly busy on weekends, but nothing like the crowded, noisy inner city pubs. Perfect for whiling away a Sunday afternoon with some friends. They have just opened an outside terrace too, which is lovely, and they have a room that can be hired out for events. It is such a good find and so unspoilt by overcrowding that I am almost reluctant to share the info with anyone. But, seriously, if you find yourself in the Dulwich/Crystal Palace/Herne Hill area of town, head on over. You will not be disappointed.

They have a good range of brunch and lunch menu, as well as the usual beer and drinks of a pub. Ambience was great. They had a good number of indoor seating options ranging two levels, and also a mini courtyard, semi-outdoor seating area. Service was good overall. They were quick to take the drinks order when I was the first to arrive, and our food was served within reasonable time afterwards too. A tasteful pub away from the hustle and bustle of Brixton that I would recommend.

Someone outside washing their hands must have heard me fiddling around with the lock and door and muttering many words of disgust and horror at my situation. "You all right in there?" she called out. "I'm fine, I'm fine! Really, I'm fine. The lock's just a bit jammed, I think." "Shall I call for reinforcements?" Oh dear God. I had a vision of an army of drunken but helpful men battering down the door while I shamefully cowered in the corner of the stall. CAN THIS POSSIBLY BE THE MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT OF MY LIFE? And wait til they hear my American accent. I WANT TO DIE NOW. Meanwhile, my friend is out there in the pub, clueless and probably wondering if I've passed out from the combination of my first pint of Guinness in a pub in a decade and jet lag from a long overseas flight. Fortunately, through much gentle prodding and fingering of the lock, I was able to slide it open and emerge unscathed except for my shattered and broken self-esteem.

There is a car park next to the venue, however it belongs to the offices near by so park there at your own risk. It strikes me as a good venue for artists and audiences alike. The artists can perform in an environment which allows for a certain amount of intimacy. There is a bar area which has seats, so if you prefer to be near the bar and watch the show you can, however there is a glass screen between the bar area and the main floor so what you would hear I don't know. The food they serve is to cater for a wide range of tastes, fish & chips, jerk chicken (which if you are like me needs some proper spice to it) and some salads. The portion size was good and i did not feel the need for desert, although nothing took my fancy!! They had the usual variety of wines, beers, sprits along with some cocktails. The time it took to get served was ok no long waits and it was packed. Its always nice to not have to go to the bar to order your drinks so the table service was very much appreciated!! We witnessed Michelle John, who I had not seen on the Voice and she most certainly can sing!!
