Sports pub mostly filled with expats. We came on a Sunday evening and they were playing a soccer…read moregame and ESPN Red Zone. The owner/manager (?) working the bar was quite a friendly character and seemed to enjoy the games with the patrons. He chatted with all the tables in turn but not too long to distract from the games playing. The food was decent and the portions on the normal side. My friend and I used the Yelp deal which was a paella and beer for 13€. The paella took about 20 minutes and it was served in a skillet--they gave a good mix of veggies and seafood. My other friend had what essentially was Spanish omelette with potatoes and veggies wrapped inside. Regrettably the beer that came with the deal tasted a bit like Coors Light but at least it was cool and tasted a bit smoother with the paella. The place itself is pretty small--maybe seats 30 people, with basically 2 TV's (one above the bar and another on the opposite wall. There are a few booths on the right side when you walk in and the rest are open tables in the center areas. It was the one place while we were in Madrid where I heard more American English than Spanish, but I suppose that comes with the sports territory.

This is a terrible tourist trap. Do not go…read more We ordered the lunch menu (11 eur per person). And the starters were so underwhelming (a salmorejo that was actually a store bought gazpacho soup and a ventresca asado that was made with canned peppers and tuna) that we told them to just bring us the bill for the items we got. They had the gall to charge us almost full price and an extra for the water even if we had barely touched the food. Don't go

After seeing their paella menu, we decided to stop by. Food was pretty good - 3.5 stars but I'm adding a half star for good service and extra drinks on the house! We ordered the following: Sangria for 2: A whole pitcher and we finished around 2/3 of it; surprising since the wife is not a big drinker. Fruity, refreshing - yet your face will turn red by the second or third glass! Calamari: Its all rings and a bit on the oily side, but nice seasoned crispy outside and soft and tender inside. Croquettes: Excellent dish! Like a fried mashed potato ball - incredibly crispy outside and nice creamy inside. Slightly cheesy and not buttery, so nice and light. Seafood Paella: It did not have mussels or clams like the pictures but it had plenty of shrimp. The rice looked oily and watery, but it turned out to be very good - the rice was heavily flavored by the broth. We'll probably have some more paella by the end of our Spain trip. Freebies: After we asked for the bill, the waitress offered us a cocktail on the house. She poured us each a healthy shot of Baileys and Limoncello, both on the rocks. We couldn't even finish the sangria! Both drinks we very good and did a nice job of totally cleaning the taste buds. We weren't super hammered, and managed to get a nice walk back to the hotel.

The other tapa dish they gave us was also something that was clearly frozen in a past life. The service was super slow too and we were sitting inside by the bar! I'm giving this 3 stars because they played both the Real Madrid game and then the Barca game. I didn't think I was going to find a place in Madrid that would show it.
