Great location. Comfortable room. Great power shower. Great for kids. Good choice at breakfast…read more Down side is navigating the very busy roads to walk over to the Trafford Centre but once there the shopping is superb. It was not a problem for us, it was lovely to have a walk but if mobility is an issue then it may be worth driving over. The hotel bar gets busy on the night, on the whole the staff are friendly and very helpul. 30 minutes free wifi then its £3 for 24 hours and you get a code or voucher from reception.

I stayed here with my girlfriend between Friday 12th - Sunday 14th September this year…read more Check-in was meant to be at 2pm, but with the time our flights arrives we were at the hotel for about 9:30am, we knew in advance that the hotel offers a service where they can mind your bags for you before/after check in/out so we asked about this at reception, the the employee actually checked was there a room ready for us instead and managed to get us checked in early which was great. The room was great, a good size and was very clean. The TV worked as it should and had plenty of channels all in perfect quality unlike some other hotels I've states in. We were informed on check-in about a restaurant deal. It was a dinner (2 courses or £2 for a third course), a free drink, and breakfast the following morning for about £22.50 I think it was. We decided to go with this for the first night and we were very please with the meal and we even hung around after for a few drinks at the bar. That night we both slept very well and we both complimented the bed in the morning as it was a great size and very comfortable. We also had 2 pillows each which is rare in hotels. We had breakfast in the hotel both mornings and we were very satisfied afterwards. It was a help yourself buffet style so you could customise it to whatever you wanted. Both Friday and Saturday we went to the Trafford Centre which is literally across the road. The Shopping Centre is massive and has plenty of shops, restaurants and even an arcade and cinema. On the last day we checked out at about 12pm and left our bags with the receptionist and they were locked away and taken care of for the day while we went to old Trafford to the Manchester United and QPR game. A shuttle bus service was run between the hotel and the Premier Inn at Old Trafford which was £2.50 each which was ideal. All in all I was very happy with this hotel and would have absolutely no problem staying here again. I highly recommend it. Every staff member was great, the food was good, the rooms were perfect, honestly for the price there was nothing else I could ask for.

My room was luckily overlooking the river and I got a fantastic view of the sunset and spinningfields. The dining area was right next to the river and was awesome ... The all you can eat breakfasts that premier inn offer are the best I have had. It is all within 5 minutes walk from spinningfields and Salford central train station and with road links very close by. 5 minutes walk to Deansgate and thus the shopping and other great features Manchester has to offer. I need to stay here again very soon.

I placed my order and about ten minutes later it arrived, freshly cooked, piping hot and beautifully laid out in the plate; all for 8.99. The room had a reasonable size TV and free wifi is an essential these days. They have an arrangement with the NCP car park round the corner for discounted rates. The staff were very helpful, in the evening I needed directions to get to This and That (you can read my review here on Yelp) and the lady printed out a map for me to follow. The duty manager in the morning ensured a smooth checkout and served the aforementioned breakfast beautifully. The only thing I would improve is to empower the staff more like in the best hotels, when I arrived after a long drive from London there was a problem with my reservation so I was hanging around in the lobby for half an hour while this was sorted when all I wanted to do was freshen up. When this has happened to me previously receptionists have said just go up to the room and relax while we get this sorted.

I'd hoped to find accommodation closer to the Metrolink but it was a football weekend so compromises had to be made when we wouldn't find a more ideal location. Despite the fact that they were undergoing some major works with a new extension and upgrading of the original building, it had no negative impact on our visit whatsoever. The staff couldn't have been lovelier or more helpful, and offered to order us a taxi should we need one. On our first day we walked to the Metrolink from the hotel and it took just over half an hour. Next day we drove to Sale Metrolink and parked in a side street instead. A few minutes on the Metro from Sale station and we were in the centre of Manchester. It won't come as a surprise that the beds were comfy and that pretty much everything we needed was present and correct in our room: tea, coffee, kettle, hairdryer etc. Okay it was a bit dated but a few months from now when the refurb is complete that will all change. Wifi is excellent and completely free at this Premier Inn. Not sure if they've rolled that out across the brand but I certainly appreciated having more than the usual half an hour complimentary access to the internet. Business/heavier users can pay for a premium wifi service if required. Plenty of free parking here and breakfast can be taken at the adjoining pub. We headed off and ate elsewhere so I can't comment on the quality, though Premier Inn breakfasts are usually pretty decent and hearty.
