Rich Curtis Realtor - Great remodeled kitchen in a listing in Cameron Park!

This is an unforgivably belated review of Rich Curtis and his support in helping us find and buy a…read morehouse in Placerville last spring. Our only excuse is that until recently we have been preoccupied in selling our house in Southern California (the fact is that buying a house with Rich was a lot easier and faster that selling our house down south). Our experience with Rich was the best we have had in buying a house. We had been looking to relocate to the Gold Country area for over a year and engaged Rich for our search in the fall of 2016. Both my wife and I connected with Rich immediately - his easy-going personality was matched with a deep knowledge of the local area. He was very patient as we looked at properties - he understood that we weren't under any definite timeline and we had the luxury of waiting for the perfect property. The perfect property for us showed up online one morning and we immediately contacted Rich to arrange a showing, which he did the following morning. We were the first to view the property and quickly realized that we needed to move fast since we knew it wouldn't stay on the market long. Rich could not have been more efficient and expedient in getting an offer to the seller that same day, and negotiating against the Seller's counter that evening. We had an accepted offer that same day. The escrow process was very smooth with Rich coordinating all the inspections using his extensive vendor contacts. Since we were "city folk", Rich's advice and recommendations on adapting to a rural setting were invaluable to us. Rich's friendly yet professional personality made the whole process very enjoyable. Another reviewer said he is "a real human being" - that is spot on and something that sets him apart from a lot of agents we have encountered. If you are looking to buy or sell a property in Sacramento or Gold Country (including the greater Auburn and Placerville areas), we could not recommend an agent more highly than Rich.

Update (10/21/2015): Rich recently helped us purchase our second home, helping us convert our first…read morehouse into a rental property to move into our dream home. My review still stands. We couldn't (and wouldn't) have been able to navigate this transaction without his counsel; he went out of his way to help us figure out how to finance it, and put our mind to ease by ensuring that our home inspections would take any surprises out of the equation down the road. Buying a house is a very emotional and stressful life-changing event. After hearing many other stories about agents that simply go through the motions to make their commission, I can promise you that Rich is your best bet if you want to feel like you truly have somebody looking after your best interests, rather than his own. Original review: Rich Curtis helped us through the process of buying our first home several years ago; I've never met anyone so willing to go above and beyond to help a first-time home buyer through the process of not just searching for a new home, but learning about the ins and outs of the deal. He walked us through every step of mortgages, escrow, financing, and the emotional roller coaster that comes with that experience. He also put his experience in home energy and environmental evaluations to good use, educating us on the best way to save on bills and keep our air quality safe from toxins. In full disclosure, Rich has become a great friend to our family, so we may be a bit biased. But I'll stake my own name on this: Rich is somebody I trust to handle the most delicate details of any realty transaction, and I continue to wholeheartedly recommend him to my closest friends.

I've called them in a water leak panic and they've been super helpful, even teaching me how to resolve it. They've made the transition into newer tenants a smooth one and that alone has made our lives so much easier as these starting months have been plenty stressful, it really helps hearing a friendly voice from your leasing company! This response is inaccurate and misrepresents my experience as a tenant…read more First, regarding the washing machine, I reported that it was broken on the day I moved in. I lived without a functioning washer for almost three weeks before it was replaced. This was not a minor delay, and it is frustrating to see the timeline minimized in your response. Regarding communication, I emailed Anne during business hours on October 13 and received no response. I texted her on Saturday morning, October 17, only because I had not heard back from the apartment complex and had still not received my security deposit. I was simply trying to obtain an update on my deposit. Characterizing this as an inappropriate use of emergency communication is misleading when my original attempt to contact management went unanswered. I also only had Anne's personal phone number because she had previously called and texted my mother, which I found unprofessional. Additionally, there appeared to be a lack of communication between Anne and Grace Smith, the previous apartment manager, regarding my move-out. Regarding my security deposit, as of October 20, I still had not received it in the mail. I checked my mail every day while waiting for it. When I finally opted to pick up the check at the office, I discovered that it had been addressed to my former apartment. I had specifically provided my new mailing address on my move-out paperwork because I was told the deposit would be mailed there. Despite this, the check was sent to the property I had already moved out of, creating an unnecessary delay and putting timely receipt of my deposit at risk. I ultimately received my deposit the day before the 21-day deadline. While I acknowledge that it was technically received within that timeframe, the issue is that it was not properly addressed to the new mailing address I provided, and I had to continue following up to resolve the situation. My review reflects my actual experience, including the maintenance delay, lack of communication, and unnecessary complications surrounding my security deposit. Referencing other tenants' positive experiences does not invalidate mine. I am sharing my experience so prospective tenants can make an informed decision.
