I came to The Roasted Bean the second time on my final day at Vegas and after I had already checked out of the Excalibur.

Quality/Quantity - Better than I expected. Well until I got the bill, lol…read more Buffet available for $33, see pictures. We ended up doing a la carte. My buddy got the Garden Omelette (again, see Mr Mamas Breakfast and lunch review) and a cup of coffee. He enjoyed this omelette much better than the previous place. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs - All was good, but the pastrami was a little more charred than I preferred. And I got a fresh OJ for $10! Ambiance - A much larger location than expected. The entrance did not do it justice. It has been a VERY long time since I have been here. Open 24 hours. Happy hour available Mondays to Fridays from 4pm to 6:30pm. Brunch available; see their website. Service - Good. Price - $70 + generous tip. Expensive for what we got, but then we are paying for LV Strip resort prices... Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success and your 2 locations here.

What happened to Vegas? It used to be known as a place of luxury and stellar service. If you had…read moretold me before our trip that the staff at the tattoo parlor were going to be the most customer centric, people-oriented establishment we'd encounter, I would have laughed in your face. This should have been a 5-star review, but by getting in their own way, things quickly changed. Let's start with what they did right and how the stars started to fade. What they did right was the breakfast buffet. It was $33, that included your breakfast staples and an omelet bar. I LOVE AN OMELET BAR!!! I also need to tip my hat to a review I read that claimed the orange juice was freshly squeezed. The server didn't mention is, but OMG, it was liked nectar from heaven, and when it's 110 in the shade, I need to be as close to heaven as possible. Unfortunately, things got off to a rough start. Probably about 8 groups in line and the host was struggling to manage things. The manager came out and started asking who was older than 21. If you were, you could be seated in the bar, otherwise the wait would be 5-10 minutes. Hungry AF, we reluctantly chose the bar. Once sat, we watched staff walk by, but no one asked for a drink order or gave details on the buffet. After 5 minutes the manager walked by and we asked what the process was. He advised, someone was coming to take our drink order, them we could use the buffet. 5 minutes later, we still hadn't had anyone take our drink order despite staff walking by constantly. We went out front, requested a manager and the same guy came and I said, "you said seating would be immediate, it's been 10 minutes, we want a table, not a bar flat top and we are not interested in waiting". He knew I wasn't playing, walked us to the dining room and sat us. There were plenty of open seats, problem was, they just weren't sitting people fast enough. Here is the other thing that got under my skin. If people say they want the buffet, seat them near the buffet. Why do I want to serve myself, then walk through the dining area, lobby and back into the bar. Sorry, I think walking around with food is tacky, unless you are a paid server. We probably would have been better off at a non-buffet, because there was no way, I was eating $33 worth of food. I had a custom omelet, which was probably the best veggie omelet I've ever had, 4 strips or bacon, hashbrowns and 2 glassed of OJ. I could have probably replicated that anywhere for about $25, but I did get that juice refill and a generous scoop of hashbrowns. I thought I may have gone back for fruit, or maybe a second smaller omelet, but that single plate filled me up. I also drank about 50 oz of water, so again, my tummy was full. Now here is the thing about a buffet, you serve yourself, so you server has one job, keeping your drinks topped off. That didn't happen. I was 2/3 through my plate and despite her interacting and serving customers left, right and in front of us, she never filled our drinks, I had to call her by name as she walked by for what must have been the 4th time without acknowledging our empty glasses. Again, this could have been 5 star, what they do here is essential. I don't need prime rib, ham, roasted turkey and seafood on my breakfast buffet, I'm not eating it, so I certainly ain't paying for it. We looked at buffet options and most breakfast buffets were 3x this price, for that reason. A point came off for the poor seating episode. I understand you wanting thin out your lobby, but have the staffing to support where you seat people. Another point comes off for the lack of service. All our server had to do was keep are glasses topped and she couldn't, it wasn't even like she couldn't keep up, we watched her just standing and talking while we were dying of thirst. Not taking a point off for this, but I am making a suggestion. A lot of places don't serve fresh squeezed juice. Bacteria can grow and you can actually get E.coli. The juice was cool, but not cold, what ever the juice was in should have been iced. Not only does that make for a well chilled glass, but it prevents bacteria from growing. Buffet, better than expected. Service, and absolute joke!

So I recommend the fireside lounge NOT the Peppermill restaurant…read more The fireside lounge is SO OLD VEGAS! and I love it. There's a fireplace in the center lots of cozy booths and drinks are kits! You can order apps and drinks but no desserts. This is my one complaint. I used to love coming in for a dessert & late night cap but now they have made a rule no desserts because (i think) they reupholstered the couches so don't v want to get sticky syrup on it. Oh well. Still a cool vibe. It's just i don't drink anymore so probably won't be coming as much. Service is average. The cocktail servers are nice but don't expect perfect service.

The garbage was overflowing. There was tp all over the floor. Who knows what the men's bathroom looked like! That's why they got 4 stars instead of 5. Now the positive. Our server Kate was beyond amazing. She was sweet, personable, knowledgeable, and professional - not to mention adorable. The portions were insane. I got the western fruit plate. I expected a small plate of fruit and a slice of banana bread. I received a platter of fruit and a whole loaf of banana bread. The decor was pretty. I loved the colors. The seats were comfortable. The music was the best, primarily 80s music. It could have been turned up just a tiny bit more. The host was friendly and professional as people came in, but didn't say goodbye to people as they were leaving. Two gentlemen even walked by and said goodbye and thank you and he was too preoccupied to notice. This was my first visit to the restaurant and I was honestly expecting a dive with lousy food & service from a 24 hour restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. I did inform a manager about the condition of the bathroom and she immediately got someone on it. The whole menu is available for 24 hours, including breakfast (except oatmeal).

We were happy with our decision to pick this restaurant. Having a gluten allergy was not a problem. Alex the manager walked me through the buffet explaining what I could enjoy. That really helped as some of the item on my first plate had a couple of items that had gluten in it which our waitress Nikki pointed out right away. She was looking out for me which I sincerely appreciated. They made me a gluten free pasta with the best marinara sauce I have ever had. I used to work in a fine dining Italian restaurant and this was better. I was impressed and can't wait to share this experience with our family and friends!
