CALL BEFORE YOU GO. The guy is not always there (mom and pop shoppe deal), and he is very VERY nice, pleasant and wonderful to deal with. I came away feeling like I had better karma already. He even apologized for how expensive the items were, which tells me he isn't overcharging -- he's just trying to make a modest profit. Frankly, I'd rather give my money to these guys than the overhyped, overpriced shops of Bloor Street that SAY they have buckwheat, organic, eco-friendly pillows, but in the end, they're charging you $50 for something worth $25. Love. They also have things for meditation altars, books, even teas. It's a very tiny little shop, but very warm and welcoming. Makes me want to start meditating. They also do yoga classes!

Even from the outside, the exterior is beautifully decorated and has warm and inviting vibe mixed with public art. Their impressive selection of rocks, gems and crystals are organized by color. While they also have special areas for tarot and oracle decks, spells, and plant magick, these items are also mixed into the individual sections based on color and theme. Someone has put a LOT of care into the curation and aesthetic of the store. I purchased a beautiful sodalite bracelet, a few different books, and a really special oracle deck I've never seen before. I think so fondly of this store when it pops into my mind, and if I were local, I'd attend their classes, visit for readings, and shop here regularly for high-quality gifts and spiritual needs. My first thought, quite accurately, was that it was one of those wacky rock stores with healing gems, and crystals, and all that. I wanted nothing to do with that. BUT I did want to know what it was like inside. Much like my desire to understand the insides of a Scientology building, without stepping foot, I sent in someone else as a proxy. My proxy came out speaking of dinosaurs. I thought she was mad. But I couldn't take that risk. What if there really were bones to be seen inside? So in I went. Now, I've got to tell you, as far as New Age rock shops go, this one is pretty good. All the rocks in bins, nicely labelled. Little cut out cards telling you what the rocks are, and what they can be used for. And the prices don't seem too bad. Even for someone like myself, who doesn't buy into the healing factors, I could have picked a few up as paper weights, and not felt all that bad about it. But - and here's the selling feature - sometimes they have rare things like Woolly Mammoth tusk chips, for a couple of bucks, or megladon shark teeth, for fifteen dollars. They even had chunks of dinosaur bones you could buy. Now, when I first saw that - without a certificate of authenticity - I questioned if they were real, but I think they must have been. In this store, is also a horn from a triceratops, and a claw from an Allosaurus. And then, at the back - although this one is only a cast - is the greatest of all: A T-Rex Skull mounted on a foot. It's fantastic. And it's worth coming in here for no reason other than to see the dinosaur bones! In the immortal words of the doctors: Fantastic!

The store was neat and clean and the guy behind the desk helped me immediately find what I was looking for, and wasn't pushy or abrasive as I decided to browse afterwards. They sell everything from menorah candles (at least I think they were menorah candles...) to much more unique things (wtf is male garlic?!) Plus, you can get a metric buttload of incense for like $3 in case you're into that sort of thing. Negative: -Unfriendly, cold and sometimes rude staff. Analysis: The store has been in business for many years and has become a staple in the GTA spiritual community. The selection of items is very wide and broad and there is probably something for everyone and most things you would ever need on your spiritual path. They have one of the largest collection of crystals I've seen in most spiritual shops, they offer beads which is interesting. The Native American items they offer are of questionable authenticity, some look more mass machine produced rather than hand made. Prices are good if your on a budget, or simply don't want to break your bank account on your way to enlightenment. The overall energy in the store is neither good nor bad, but it can become bad and unwelcoming at times. Perhaps they should consider cleansing the store. The staff is knowledgeable enough about spiritual topics, you should be able to get most of your questions answered reliably. Although the staff is very cold, and sometimes outright rude in my experience. I usually only visit the store out of necessity than outright loyalty as there are more friendly stores in the GTA.
