When calling Veterans taxi / MBTA The Ride reservations to book a trip, sometimes they set the phone to ring 20 times before a recording picks up and tells you to hold for a representative. The head of the reservations Dept, Paula, is the boss from hell (LITERALLY) - Once you get through the representatives are ok but they are petrified of her (I know from experience) If you have to speak to dispatch, they are the most unprofessional, mean, rude people I've ever had to talk to. Kevin and Robert are insensitive and incompetent and the worst part is that they are management. That being said there are a handful of amazing drivers but odds are you will have to ride with an inexperienced, unprofessional, young, smelly, rude, asshole who WILL take the longest way possible to stretch out the ride time to earn more money. No, the ride customer doesn't pay by the minute but the driver is paid by the company on the length of the drive and if you let them they'll drive you around the world to get to the simplist of places.. These men don't get out of the car like they should to knock on your door to let you know they've arrived... these men don't get out and help the elderly unless theyre asked or unless the customer is blind and when they're asked they take their sweet time and make sure they're paperwork is filled out first. Very offen dispatch calls in the middle of your ride telling the driver to pick another customer up at a location that is no where near the direction your going and at times if the driver says no dispatch retaliates by not providing them with jobs / rides / pickups. I have a lungs disease that makes it hard for me to take the bus and the train like I need to so I am greatful for the ride and I've had it for almost 10 years but VETERANS THE RIDE is a complete MESS!!! Something's gotta give!! read more
