As the officiant, the team did such a good job making sure my microphone worked and that I was comfortable with the set up (shout out Kevin!) and that I was shepherded to where I needed to be with humor and care. Truly a wonderful experience from the moment we got there for the rehearsal to the delicious food to the very fun dance floor (thank you Morgan, Dakota, Joelle, Nina, and David for taking care of us, you guys rocked ) I was so lucky to get to be a part of this experience and the phenomenal team at Brookside made sure the night was easy, fun and focused on celebrating the couple instead of lost in the logistics.

Darla and Jim were with us every step of the way. We had plenty of help planning and got lots of guidance and suggestions when we asked for it. It felt like everyone was just as invested in our wedding as we were. On top of that, all of the rentals are included in the venue price and there were extra decorations we were able to use (for example, a card box and sign). Jim has an amazing ability to talk you through the stressful moments and was super communicative leading up to the big day. On the day of, we were wed, fed, hydrated, and happy. People just appeared with food and drinks without us having to ask for it. Even though things were shifting constantly, I did not feel any stress and it seemed like any "problem" that arose was an easy fix. Our day was truly perfect, everything we dreamed of, because of Darla and Jim.

It helped so much to have so many elements included and taken care of- coordinator, tables and chairs, table cloths, napkins, bartender, servers, the arch, and many of the decorations. I didn't even feel the need to have a florist included in the day because of the landscaping and natural elements that were already part of Shupe. That helped a ton! The garden is open to the public. I love to sit outside on one of the stone benches and listen to the fountain. It's a great place to sit and write a letter, or just' be'. The garden is lovely: statuary with clematis or ivy climbing up it dots the lawn; large trees provide shade, and there are flowering plants everywhere. My relative was married here; my mom used to bring her grandkids here for a photo shoot! The one drawback- it's at a busy intersection, so you do have to be ok with that.

We were offered to hold a "Get out and Vote" rally for a local school board election…read more Weeks prior, the manager of the Garden Room offered their venue to hold the event and confirmed the day and time. After advertising the event on social media, we arrived on the day of the event to set things up and the owner of the Garden Room told us to leave. We introduced ourselves and offered our hand for a handshake and he ignored it. We told the owner we had booked his venue with his manager. The owner said, "Well, They Didn't approve it with me!" and told us to leave. We had a friendly event planned and invited the opposition to attend. We found out later the owner has strong political views toward the ultra right and supports the opposition who wants to destroy public education by selling out our public schools for profit. Regardless of his political views, his manager scheduled his venue for this rally and the owner did not honor it on the day we were to hold it. Buyer beware. You cannot trust your event to be held here. Disgraceful!

Also there was absolutely no charge for this event at all. I am so incredibly sorry for the inconvenience it caused everyone that day. It's my knowledge that the event still happened just east of the venue so that attendees could still participate even if it wasn't as planned :( I no longer work at The Garden Room but I can say it's a wonderful venue with a tremendous staff and you will not be disappointed. Please don't let this one event that did not go well because of my actions ruin your future interest and bookings of this venue. *Please note that politics and the views of anyone affiliated with The Garden Room had nothing to do with the event not occurring at the venue it was solely my mess up that caused the inconvenience that day.

They host a plethora of events - from baby showers, to weddings, to reunions in addition to the standard CU BUFFS football games! Natalie, Kristi, Marcos and the entire team are phenomenal! Today, visited today for an athletics department tour. For a nominal fee, we were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Folsom Field and the UCHealth Champions Center. We got to see and experience the Ford Practice Facility where the BUFFS football team practices and where CU hosts a number of track and field and other events, the Weight Room - THE BEST WEIGHT ROOM I'VE EVER SEEN as well as team meeting rooms and the Champions Center rooftop! So many behind the scenes places, I don't even remember them all! We saw trophies, and all of the most inspiring quotes from Coach Prime! From start to finish, it was absolutely beautiful and exceeded every expectation we had. We had a couple of light drizzles during the event, but the staff jumped into action immediately, so the celebration never skipped a beat. Thanks to their attentiveness, we were able to stay outside for the entire event and never felt uncomfortable for a moment. We're still elated thinking about how beautifully everything came together. A huge part of that success was Brittaney, who was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. When we learned there was a high chance of rain, she helped us strategize and came up with several backup options, all while being thoughtful and understanding of our budget and vision. Her flexibility and care took so much stress off our shoulders.
