In fact, I think I felt better leaving Think Tank than I do when I leave my massage appointments . . . and that's saying a lot. Joe, the owner, was super friendly and a gracious host. His exuberance for the product he offers is genuine and his desire to create the best possible experience for me was refreshing. He explained everything thoroughly, took good care to emphasize any safety issues with getting in and out of the tank, and I could have stayed and talked with him for hours. I would have, too, had I not another appointment looming. The tank itself was much more comfortable than I'd hoped; even at my large size (6'3 and generally big), I fit quite nicely in the tank. The door was huge and once I lowered myself into the water, I found it easy to navigate the process. It took me about ten minutes to relax; in fact, I opened the door to the tank (it felt a little warm and a little claustrophobic for me with it open) and sat up twice as I tried to get my bearings. Once I relaxed my neck, let my ears fall under the water, and let go of the tension in my body, I realized why Joe was so excited about floating. It was almost magical. I highly recommend you try floating; I walked away feeling lighter, more relaxed, and even traffic on the way to the cell phone store couldn't upset me afterward. That's pretty epic.

Now for Melissa...she was a soloist with the Cincinnati Ballet, AND toured with Phantom of the Opera, which could make her REALLY intimidating, but she is awesome! This class is a nice variety of light cardio, light weights, floor work, and my favorite, pretending for just a few minutes that I, too, am a ballerina. Melissa emphasizes proper form, but doesn't make you feel bad if you need to stop for water or an extra breath (or two)! If you have never taken a class that incorporates barre work, I highly recommend it. Believe me, you will use muscles you didn't know you had.

You can hang your coat and leave your shoes in the room straight ahead as you enter. They have a really great selection of interesting classes, workshops, and events. They are also very affordable, so keep up with their calendar online! It's clear that this studio is fostering inclusion and community. You can of course drop in for a single class, but many of their offerings are designed as a series. This means you can buy a package, and make a commitment to yourself to attend regularly and get to know the people around you each week. The space does truly feel like a sanctuary, and I like that they seek to hold the space for you to be as you are today. The teachers are there, with openness and honesty, studying together with you. I believe in their stated purpose to promote well-being, self-awareness, and spiritual transformation. This is not your typical yoga-gym, and for that I love it!

Wonderful funky atmosphere (it used to be an old Masonic Lodge and a lot of the accouterments were left to the present tennant). I came for the Yin Yoga (super stretching) class and was not disappointed. Will taught the class and it was tough but real authentic. He was humble, kindly, and very much an expert but without any arrogance and with a whole lot of caring. Yes, there were times when I thought I could not hold on but giving it the "old college try" paid off handsomely. I was a new woman the next day! Aches and pains large and small were erased,even tiny ones I had accommodated were lost! I am definitely making the CYS part of my weekly routine even if it is a little bit extra, it is so very worth it. Nice lineup of other teachers and styles there, too. Go and try it out, I think you will be impressed. Oh, took a special 3 hour class with the founder of TriYoga (Khaliji) what a great evening that was. Very beneficial. It's this that makes CYS such a gem.
