This is a great toy store. Toys of all kinds, not the Walmart or Target chain toys, but great toys that actually engage children, and I'm not talking about just educational toys, either. So much variety and toys that you wish you had a bottomless wallet to take them all home. Even the "cheapo" niknaks are so cool! And you want games? Tons of such interesting games. Again, would love to buy all of them and then somehow find time to play them all. Figurines, die cast cars, outdoor toys, collectables, of course Lego sets, etc. etc. etc. Such great inventory. Stuff you can't find anywhere else. They have a frequent buyers program, too, to earn points and discounts. They do kid workshops. I recently took my granddaughter to make a Lego race car and she got to keep the car. They do free gift wrapping. If you want even more fancier wrapping paper, there is a nominal charge, but I've always found that their free gift wrap is absolutely fine. Been there several times, but each time I always end up spending a long time looking at stuff and finding things I never saw before. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory and can come up with suggestions if you are looking for something in particular. Great for adults and kids! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Visited the location on black Friday weekend. They went above and beyond to be helpful. Even though wrapping gifts was supposed to be unavailable that weekend they still did it for us. Also the deals were so much better than other local toy stores. They had huge inventory, great prices, it was clean and organized. read more

***they do not accept returns on opened items unless defective*** Maybe I should have read the fine print. But almost all places now a days accept returns of all kinds if you're unsatisfied with the product. This is a good store to get ideas for toys. But that's where it ends. We spent a lot of money on a marble run. As we were setting it up, the pieces didn't snap together and created frustration in us adults, I can't imagine the frustration a child would experience! (It's not defective, just a terrible design). We wanted to return it but they don't except returns on open items. I can understand this policy for crayons/sensory items. But a very expensive toy that doesn't provide the experience we were hoping for? It should be returnable. If you're going to fork up a lot of money, come here to check it out, then buy it on Amazon/another place that accepts returns. read more

Red Balloon is a really, really fun toy store that has pretty much everything your child's heart could desire. You'll find familiar brands like Playmobil, Klutz books, Groovy Girls, Webkinz, Ty Beanie Babies and Thomas the Train. You'll also find a treasure trove of other things, from board games to play food to dragons, farm animals, marble sets, craft kids, magnetic dolls sets, flashcards--and that's just the tip of the iceberg! I really enjoy this place. It's worth going to for games and some unique ideas for kiddos. I prefer it over big box stores because it isn't full of "junk" toys. Their prices are on point as well. There's really not much of a need to "price compare" to amazon since they're usually close enough that it isn't worth the wait. They also have good sales on their legos that you won't get at the LEGO store. read more

Most of the stuff from the Canyon Rim store applies here. This store is a bit better laid out and perhaps a touch larger, but features the same collection. They seem to be largely moving away from the Bruder imports, perhaps because a few of the other toy stores I've been to seem to have finally caught on and are bringing those in also. There still seems like a healthy collection of eclectic and somewhat higher end toys, though I did also notice that a lot of the cheap Chinese junk is also making inroads. These stores are always clean, pretty easy to navigate and there's stuff for the kids to play around with and try out. That they're also a lot more geared towards educational toys is a definite bonus as well. read more

Red Balloon has a wide selection of toys for kids of all ages. I especially like that they have a decent selection of classic and wooden toys for little kids. You know, toys that don't beep scream and play nauseating electronic versions of children's music. I have purchased really cute imaginary play toys here for older children, such as small western action figures and accessories and a cute little tin tea set. We originally went to this strip mall location to go to Kid to Kid and after being disappointed there, I decided to check out the Red Balloon with my two year old daughter. We walked through the doors and she exclaimed "WOW!" The store is extremely clean and organized, and the man working there was very friendly and personable. We spent about a half hour looking at all they have to offer. I was just as intrigued as my two year old was. The only thing she ended up wanting was a rubber coral snake, but we had a lot of fun browsing while we were there! This will definitely be the go to for birthdays and Christmas. read more

A friendly toy store with lots of hard to find toys. I just went in for jax (super hard to find this classic toy) and left with a wind up bird toy, and a couple other stocking stuffers. The staff helped me find things and even called another store to see if they had what I was looking for. My only concern are the prices :( It's just a tad high for me, but I will be back (probably for a neat science kit). read more
