The communications and interactions were very friendly and detailed. The tree cutting was done very professionally by Bruno and his team. They didn't just cut. Before cutting, a plan was done for each cut to obtain the best results. Clean up of the cuttings was done immediately. They lost 1/2 point due to the dragging of some of the cuttings over my other plants. The team even cut up some of the tree branches and stacked them for us to use as fire wood. Before I left Toronto on May 23, my Blue Spruce was healthy with vibrant, green new growth. When I returned in mid-June, I found extensive damage: large sections of new growth had turned brown, twisted, and appeared chemically burned. Several nearby plants also showed signs of chemical staining and leaf injury. Tree Doctors had applied a Needlecast treatment on May 29 and on June 6. When I reported the damage and asked for someone to assess the situation in person, Tree Doctors offered nothing but excuses. They did not take responsibility, nor did they send anyone to evaluate the harm their treatment had done to my tree. Their response--marked by dismissiveness and a lack of accountability--was disappointing and upsetting. I am now consulting an independent arborist to assess the impact on my trees and surrounding plants. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Tree Doctors. Their poor communication and failure to stand behind their work have caused lasting damage in my garden.

Their arrival and mobilization in front of our house was nothing short of a co-ordinated military operation, with Don leading his charges into battle. Two massive trucks, which occupied half the width of the street, shredded and carted away all tree branches, ropes and pulleys dangled from the tree as a tree-climber equipped with a chain-saw swung fearlessly limb from limb removing dead twigs and sprigs, all the while a crew waited underneath armed with rakes and leaf blowers to collect any falling debris. It was quite impressive watching how synchronized their movements were as they functioned as a single unit. The crew were, furthermore, conscientious, amiable and receptive to any impulsive requests you asked of them. Within three hours, Arbor Care removed several major boughs and thinned out the rest of the silver maple's crown. Accordingly, our backyard has more sunlight now for our garden. Arbor Care left our property spotless; it was as if they never visited our property. We would contact Don and his talented crew again for any other tree service project and would recommend Arbor Care wholeheartedly to others.

But in the time it took to secure a permit and to negotiate with the city on a replacement tree, most companies had gotten way too busy to schedule the tree removal. I tried a string of independent contractors, most of whom didn't have a tree climber, weren't insured and didn't even have a team. On a whim, I reached out to several more companies and Community Tree Care responded. My mother had an excellent feeling about them. What is it they say-- always listen to your mom. Steven was honest, he said don't do the stump grinding or you will ruin your mom's lovely garden. He also said he would work on the opposite side of the fence -- the city street side -- to mitigate any risk to the garden. These were ideas and strategies we NEVER heard from the six or seven teams that had come out to look before. We were also taken aback and pleasantly so when he said he could schedule the work the very next day. So, after talking we sealed the deal and they arrived and made quick work of the tree. Furthermore, our tree was standing in a marble rock bed. They brought their own marble stones at no extra cost and covered the stump which they had levelled to the ground, creating the illusion that no tree was ever there, without the aid of stump grinding. We were astounded. This company does excellent work, and they ensure they do what's best for you not what will earn them a greater profit. It's nice to see companies that put integrity, hard work and excellent service together in one neat package still exist.
