DO NOT PAY FOR THIS SCAM We payed over $300 for horse rides on the beach and drove all the out to Florida from MISSOURI and when we showed up for our rides there was no one in sight. We called and emailed the owner multiple times on the day and weeks beforehand to confirm our reservation and no one answered. The voicemail box was full so we couldn't leave a message and no one returned our email. This is the worst experience I have ever had with an business. Save yourself time and losing out on hundreds of dollars but ignoring this pla read more

Great time!!! Worth every dollar and more! Girlfriend saw the horses on the beach. We had to wait a year to actually go riding. Awesome!

To say I had an amazing experience is an understatement. This went above and beyond any expectation I had. I felt safe, and secure on the horse. We were given information about the horses behaviors, told about different sea life. The swim was my favorite part. We were able to swim twice and it felt like an amusement park ride, so incredible. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful if needed. I loved my experience and recommend it to anyone and everyone! read more

Everyone should try this amazing beach ride with the horses. My husband and I brought our seven-year-old daughter. This experience was exceptional from start to finish. We went on a two-week vacation in three states and this was by far our favorite event from the trip. First - We are horse people and support rescue. We would not do this if it wasn't clear the horses were treated well. The horses were well-groomed, treated kindly and the handlers had extraordinary communication skills with both the horses and riders. They staff was enthusiastic and friendly before, during and after the ride. And the horses were happy doing this - They loved the water and it genuinely was a fun experience for everyone. Second - We are very mindful of safety with horses. If you're afraid of horses (or falling), this is the perfect place to take a stress-free ride. We actually drove out to watch a ride and ask about safety before booking for the next day. I would not have put my seven-year-old daughter on the back of a horse if I wasn't fully confident that she would be safe. Each rider has a guide and a lead rope to hold the horse to maintain control. The children wear helmets and they offer life jackets for all ages. If my daughter had fallen (which she didn't), she would have just landed safely in the water with a life vest and the handler would have been in control of the situation immediately. The guide doesn't leave you alone with the horse and they maintain control the whole time so you can enjoy without fear. Finally, we had an experience like nothing else. I've ridden horses for years at a relatively novice level. I'm not going to wow anyone with my horse skills, but I've taken Western and English riding classes. This was so different. You weren't worried about the next step to keep yourself safe or learn something new. You were just enjoying the horse and being in the water with them. The staff took tons of photos and we also were able to bring waterproof iPhone cases to take photos throughout the ride. I wish I could give more stars. This is an experience for all levels of skill and all riders. It was so special and we are so grateful to the staff and horses for making this happen. Thank you, Beach Horses! :) read more

I had an amazing ride. My horse was Jemabelle- she was a hoot! She'd put her nose under the water and blow bubbles. The hour ride was perfect. A great mix of walking on the sandbars and swimming through the water. I highly recommend! read more

It was a wonderful experience!!! The horses were beautiful! I do think for the price I would have had a little more independence and the guide not have ahold of the lead rope the ENTIRE time. I didn't have any time to just relax and enjoy some alone time bc she was always right there., only moving for photos. It was comparable to a pony ride. I am not a beginner so I excepted to be able to ride by myself. I had an amazing time regardless! The guides were otherwise awesome, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. They allow you to take all the pictures you want. This would be great for kids and beginners, or people who have no experience with horses! A great time! read more

Going riding with Beach Horses was my Mother's Day Gift and the most fabulous gift I could have ever received. Ashley was my delightful guide and Alibi was my strong and amazing horse. Cantering along the beach was more than a dream come true and then the swimming in the Bay and the horse skiing soooo much fun. I am still smiling and simply thrilled to have been so very spoiled by my daughters and husband. Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful evening, Beach Horses/Water Horses. Ya'll simply ROCK! read more

Pay your employees. My daughter works for this man. He has not paid her for a month now. She is a college student and this was her summer job. Her summer savings. Do not book a ride with this guy. He has not paid anyone that works for him in a month. Including the horses and the people that bring the horses to the beach. Horses have to eat too. This guy sits in his house booking rides. He has zero overhead. He has not paid anyone. Do not book a ride from this guy. Do not work for this guy. read more

My Christmas present this year was a christmas Eve horseback ride with Beach Horses. We rode up the beach and then went in the water. I tried Horse Surfing, standing atop my painted horse Sparkle. Then, we went horse skiing, holding onto the tail ( for dear life) as they ran through the water. Finally, we rode atop the horses while they swam. It is a family run company and each of the guides was delightful. It was a great day and a great Christmas present. read more

Overall an excellent experience. I had never ridden bareback, but my horse Flossie took good care of me. My daughter (and another little girl) cantered on the sand, and then we all went into the bay. I am too heavy to stand on the horse's back, but my daughter did. Then it was time to be pulled at high speed by the horse's tail! This made me laugh out loud. I was on Flossie's back while she swam, then we went back to dry land. I would do this again, and my daughter loved it. read more

Though it was a cold morning (below 50 while en route) it was still an enjoyable experience. Originally booked at the Sunshine Skyway, but it was canceled last minute by the company. They withdrew rides from the Skyway due to seagrass preservation concerns. We were fortunate to have availability the same day in Bradenton, but earlier. When rebooking, Tim asked what they could do to make the experience extra special, ie: certain horse breeds, etc. He agreed to my request for paints for my wife and daughter (whose Bday we were celebrating). The request failed to materialize. Having said all that though, the deep water bareback riding and swimming activities were much more interactive than what we saw the competitors doing nearby. If you can swing $140 per person for an hour, it's worth doing this once in your lifetime if you enjoy horses. ***************** IMPORTANT UPDATE: In searching for this business to tag for social media, I discovered that the water only activity is $40 less than beach and water rides. I hadn't seen this previously because I had booked the ride at the Skyway which was canceled as previously mentioned. DON'T WASTE $40 on THE "BEACH" PORTION OF THE RIDE. It's NOT A LEGIT BEACH AND IT AMOUNTED TO AN EXTRA $200 FOR A 10 MINUTE STROLL ALONG THE SHORE AND BACK...IT WOULD ONLY BE FAIR FOR TIM at www.beachhorses.com TO OFFER US A PARTIAL REFUND. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW ACCORDINGLY. read more

I did this horse back riding on the beach with my dad and we had the best time! There were 8 horses and 8 riders, each had their own guide. The guide I had was Melissa and she was amazing!!! She was welcoming and sweet and she knew so much about the horses. She also offered to take multiple pictures of my dad and I with the underwater camera I brought, which was a nice added bonus. During the ride, we did 'tricks' which included surfing (standing on the horse), horse swimming, running in the water and holding their tails while they ran (which I learned from Melissa is good for them). The guides all encouraged you to try the tricks but if you didn't want to do something, you didn't have to. Overall, great experience! The only issue we had was that we signed up for the 8:00am and it got changed to 3:20 because of the tide. We were about an hour away and when we got there for the 8am, no one was there. Come to find out it was changed due to the tide (needs to be low tide) when we called, they said they emailed us but when they looked further, they saw the email was never opened (thinking they had the wrong email?) and no one ever called to follow up. It was a little frustrating, just because it was a lot of driving back and forth but the customer service was nice when we called and the experience made up for it. Would definitely recommend this, just pay attention to the tide schedule :) read more

Amazing experience. Horses were well trained and beautiful. Tour guides were friendly and experienced. Very little instruction given. We rode bareback on the horses down the beach for a mile while the guides walked along side us. Then went out into the water and the horses let us stand on their backs to do horse surfing, they pulled us with their tail to do horse sking, then they swam in the ocean with us on their backs. Booked for sunset ride but because us and the other party arrived early we went out earlier but missed photo opts of the sunset on the horses. Still an excellent time. read more

My wife and I have owned, and ridden, horses our entire lives. Signed up as "expert" and expected to have a horse with a little more "get up & go" and to have more independence being seasoned riders Not sure why we had bridles on the horses because the instructors either held on to the horses via a lead line or walked very close to the horse the entire time....it did make us feel like we were at a kiddie carnival I would suggest saving your $40 on the beach ride....simply not worth the extra $ Water quality was questionable. Kind of a icky brown color. Living in the Midwest, we're used to sometimes riding through water that may be muddy or kind of nasty looking but just wasn't expecting it on this particular ride. Instructors were all great. Very friendly and committed to make it a fun experience read more

It was a great experience on top of the horses being beautiful and well taken care of the ride was awesome and very realxing the guides were very informative and nice it was a great experience for me and my boyfriend and we would deffiently do it again read more

My daughter and I were visiting some friends that lived in Bradenton Beach area and were looking for things to do that my daughter would enjoy. My friend suggested we try Beach Horses since my daughter loves riding and competes in shows in Maryland. I too was an experience rider. My friend and her daughter were novice riders but were willing to try since the advertisement said riders of all experience would be able to ride. Once we got to the beach location we saw the horses and how beautiful the beach was. The sun was about to set in about 1 hour. There was a group ahead of us so we were able to watch how the riding, swimming and how the horses acted. After we signed our lives away on the waivers we were paired up with our horses. We were asked what experience we had and so the riding began. My daughter and I were able to ride without a guide leading us down the beach so we were able to canter back and forth down the beach. The horses that we rode had smooth gaits so it wasn't hard to ride them. My girlfriend and her daughter were on a lead line and the guide walked beside them. Now the exciting part was next-getting the horses to swim out into the ocean! My daughter was the lead horse so she went in first and the guides held onto the horses tail, one guide was holding my horse and a guide was holding her tail getting pulled while she was pulling my friend's horse so it was like a horse line. Once we were deep enough we were told to stand up on the horse's back...it was pretty easy once you got your balance so everyone in our group was able to do it. While we were standing on our horses the sun was setting it was such a beautiful backdrop for what we were experiencing. The surprising and most enjoyable part of the ride was being pulled behind the horses while they ran, you had to hold on to their tail for dear life. It was just like getting pulled by a boat or a jet ski and we were body skiing. Another memorable experience was when the horses were actually swimming and we were riding them. After the swim we all dragged our guides back until we hit the beach. Our guides were so nice and friendly that made the ride enjoyable as well. They were very patient with the other riders who didn't know how to ride. I would recommend this to anyone who loves horses and wants a unique experience. We had no problem booking our ride and we even hired the photographer to take pictures for us. My only suggestion is when you do your water part you need to bring your own water proof camera because the photographer does not get in the water and you do want to get a picture of you "surfing the horse" close up:). My daughter still can't stop talking about this ride to all her friends and to her trainer....it was very memorable. The owner was very nice to us and explained everything to us before we booked the ride. I can't wait to go back down to Florida and do this again and try the other horse activities that this company has available:) read more

A bit pricy for our family of 6, but in the end, well worth it! My husband & I upgraded for saddles, but i would not recommend that. We paid $20 each to ride 10 min in the saddle then took them off to get in the water. Go on a hot/warm day, the water was really cold in November. Apparently the dolphins are sometimes around during the morning tours, but we didnt see any. If you have a waterproof camera, you should take it. Ours got some great pics! read more

Wonderful, fun, super,....not enough adjectives to express the great time I had with this fabulous group. Sarah was my trainer, and she could not have been better..she was instructive, encouraging, and informative. In the water I held onto the horse's tail while she swam! " I can do this all day," I thought! Beach Horses is owned and operated by people who really care about their horses- many of whom are rescues. The horses are in beautiful condition and obviously loved by all involved in Beach Horses. By the way I am a total beginner at horseback riding, and it was not difficult to learn! You must do this activity! read more

If this is not on your bucket list, it should be! I traveled to Anna Maria Island just to ride/swim with the horses. The experience far exceeded my expectations. On the day of the ride the clouds opened up and it poured into the afternoon. Beach Horses stayed in touch with me via text alerting me to the status of my ride. We started in the rain, which didn't matter since we were heading into the bay! The horses were gentle and easy to ride. The guides are fabulous. No spoilers here-I'll let you discover the surprises in store once you hit the water. You will have the time of your life. Go for it! read more

Beach Horses is an exceptional treat. It was my first time on a horse and the trainer (Christina) put me at ease immediately. I rode Hoss who is a beautiful, gentle animal. My family and I had a great time. Each rider had his/her own trainer (Ashely, Ashley, Christina, Skyler, and Dani), and the horses were very comfortable with the trainers and with us in the water. The trainers loved riding and were happy to share their knowledge. Our girls loved Horse surfing and swimming! read more

My 10 year old twin boys and 7 year old daughter rode the horses on the beach for 30 min and then in the water for another 30 minutes. They don't have any horse riding experience, but the guides were wonderful and taught them how to horse surf, horse ski, and stand on the horse's bare back. They were so good with my kids and very knowledgeable. You could tell they really cared about the horses and my kids' safety. They had helmets for riding on the beach, and life jackets in the water. All 3 kids told me it was not only their favorite thing we did on vacation, but one of their top experiences ever! I definitely recommend this for families, kids, and adults! read more

I booked the trail riding excursion for my mother's birthday. She had always loved horses, and to be honest, this seemed like the best deal. Most other places are a little bit cheaper, but you only get about 30 mins of actual riding around a corral. They called to confirm my appointment and make sure we had no questions, they also made sure we had accurate directions to get where we needed to go -very professional in my opinion. We went to Deer Prairie Creek Preserve for a 2-hour long trail ride. It was amazing. You are in such a serene place in the preserve, the horses were amazing, and so was our tour guide. I really could not have asked for a better experience. We will also be checking out riding the horses on the beach this summer. read more

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable - horses were happy and well cared for. This sounded like it would be a great time. My daughter really wanted to do this. We were unable to make a reservation via their website and so I called.
