I was seated pretty quickly, but my hairstylist, Lora, immediately started trying to convince me to change my style. I was informed that "girls should have long hair" and that my preferred haircut was going to be "too short" to look pretty. I wasn't asking for anything crazy, just for my hair to be trimmed to a little bit under my ears. I eventually convinced her that it was my hair and what I wanted. She started cutting my hair and I was turned away from the mirror. I was not offered any way to see what was going on during the cut. When she finished, I saw that she had not honored my request and had cut only a little bit off the front of my hair and the back of my hair was the same length. I asked her to trim it again and reminded her of my initial request. She trimmed off a little bit more but not as much as I wanted. She also overcharged me - the front board advertised it as being $20 for a women's cut but she charged me $24. I didn't want to hassle with them anymore and left. It has been several days and I am finding lots of chunks of hair that were cut unevenly - too long or too short. I had asked for a straight line.

Kim is so lovely and we made great conversation. She makes sure her clients are comfortable, and she is so lovely to talk to. I'm a student, and she gave me a table so that I could read and take notes while I got my hair done. She has a lot of experience working in the beauty industry.
