We were in town for a family event. Our desk clerk at Best Western suggested this place when I…read moreasked her for a "good local place that she would go to". I realized after we pulled up and went in that I had been to another location of this small chain before. I would equate it to a local "Denny's", the menu is largely breakfast oriented, along with other diner staples. I had a chicken sandwich with fries and slaw, my wife had a club sandwich with fries. The food is basic, but I was actually fully satisfied, with the preparation of our meals. The fries were hot and fresh, our sandwiches were well put together. Our server was a little odd at first, but warmed up as the "date" developed. She was effective and took good care of us, it was just that original vibe that had my wife a bit leery. Be prepared for the lemonade, it is tart (in a good way) but that first sip was a nice surprise, becuase so often diner lemonade is slightly cloudy sugar water. (Perfect for an MIB alien, not so great for me). We meant to take a picture of their long suffering leggy Dieffenbachia, The poor thing had a long thin stem (had been supported by various spikes and string). It may be too late to save it! The drastic, but necessary move is cut it off a few inches from soil and repot it in good soil with consistent sunlight. We will come back and check on it. ;)

We stopped in for breakfast. The food was cooked to order and had good taste. Our server (Courtney)…read moredid an excellent job. It is a cozy diner with lots of seats - tables, booths, bar; and it was clean. If you're in Zanesville, it's worth a try for breakfast.

Adornetto's - Bread that came with meals. So tasty

The waitress was prompt and our order came out perfectly. I started with a cucumber lemonade (with alcohol) drink and it was yummy as all get out. I'd have loved to have one or three more but didn't want the hangover! I ordered the 8" veggie pizza and minused the peppers. I usually don't order veggie simply due to the amount of liquid that ends up sogging up the crust. I suspected today's would be good and it was! I had enough left over to bring home for a snack during movie night. Hubs had the meat lovers and he enjoyed it and a draft beer. We're not local but we'd come back if we were.

To me, Adornetto's is pure nostalgia. It's a nod to my entire childhood. My parents would bring us…read morehere as kids for "special occasions" and they even had date nights here before we were born. My grandmother was friends with Catherine and Joanne was the nicest, classiest lady. We've all since grown and moved on to other cities in our lives. For Mother's Day, we opted to return to one of our favorite restaurants and were excited to see the new remodeling, as well as the addition of the new bar. Upon arrival, we were given a wait time of 20-30 minutes (no problem). However, a party of 50 had just walked in before us. Wth?!!? Did they call ahead? Make reservations? Apparently not. Why not suggest they have food catered? The inept manager decided to accommodate them ahead of all other guests. Our 20-30 minute wait ended up being over an hour. I decided to order a drink at the bar during the wait. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes (the bartender (Rodney) made eye contact with me twice, however refused to acknowledge me or take my order. While standing there, a gentleman sat down at the bar and was tended to immediately. Another gentleman walked up to the bar around the corner and was also acknowledged and attended to within seconds. After 10 minutes, I gave up. Another party who had gotten there before the party of 50 was forced to wait until after the giant party was seated before they could get a table. It was mayhem. No apologies and I felt terrible for all of the servers who were forced to take care of the giant party without warning. After FINALLY being sat, our sweet server did her best to take care of our party of 10. The food was nostalgic and decent. The new menu additions were good. I love the addition of the bar. The renovations are beautiful. However, management and bartender both soured our experience. The new Adornetto's definitely has some growing pains to work out if they want their loyal customers to return. Zanesville is filled with great food options now and good service is necessary for an optimal dining experience. I hope they're able to step up their game. I can't, for the life of me, understand why they don't take reservations (?). It would streamline guest experiences and make it easier to staff and be prepared for success.

This restaurant has at least 2-3x as many food options as my local Chinese buffets. The variety was good, with American choices mixed in with the oriental ones. They also had a pretty decent dessert selection (ice cream, cookies, pudding, fruit, jello, apple pie, etc.), which isn't usually the case with Chinese buffets. The lowlights: the building is dated along with the decor, the bathroom, and the furniture. The utensils are located up at the salad bar. So, if you were expecting them to be brought to you with your drinks, you'll be taking the extra trip back up front while your plate gets cold at the table. I loved the fish tank at the front and a lot of the chicken options. The green beans and broccoli were fresh and crisp. The apple pie rendition was good, but the banana pudding had a strong artificial taste. The host was friendly, as was the woman who walked us to our table and brought our drinks. The price seemed fair for dinner ($15.99/pp).

It's about time that Zanesville gets some "healthier" fast casual food options and I'm so glad this…read morerestaurant chain made a home on the North end of the city. I've eaten at tons of Panera Bread establishment over the years, some in Phoenix, some in Chicago, others here in Ohio, and the experience I had here was very similar to the norm. There's plenty of parking at this location (score) and they have a rather large patio out front with tons of tables and umbrellas for shade. Although the fake plants can go, no need for that. The place is kept clean and the staff was cordial. They have a lot of vegetarian friendly options so and I'm so thankful for that. I usually get the pick two and I always get the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. When I visited PB in Zanesville, it was no exception. It's honestly the best vegetarian sandwich I've ever gotten at a chain establishment. They start this sandwich on tomato basil bread and add peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, greens, tomatoes, red onions, a delicious cilantro-jalapeno hummus. While it can be messy, I always eat every bite. Lastly, when it comes to the price, everything here is really reasonable. There's a few other reviews that complain about it being too expensive but honestly, its higher quality food then what you get at McDonald's so of course it's going to cost a little more. I get my meal for under ten dollars so I'm always happy walking out the door. Toss out the staff having random bad days (we're all human) and the occasional sloppy sandwich and this place is cool in my book.
