As one of our party is in a wheelchair they commented that they were equipped for guests with disabilities as a number of their regular guests were in this category. The meal we had on the weekend was up to their normal excellent standards. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant with soft lighting all round and a beautiful tropical fish tank to complete the look. The owner was called immediately to have a look and he took my plate away to the kitchen. He returned a few minutes later, and tried to persuade us that it had been a seed. I have had much experience cooking with this vegetable: its seeds are small, white and circular, not curled and segmented with a dark, brown head. I explained this to the owner and, to prove my point, asked to see the worm I'd found again. Unsurprisingly, he returned to say it had been thrown in the bin. At no point did he apologise, or offer any kind of compensation or price reduction. To add insult to injury, when our bill arrived, we found we had been overcharged: the prices they were asking were higher than those advertised on their menu outside. In short: the staff were rude, patronising, and unreasonable - ruining what had been, until that point, a fairly enjoyable evening.
