It was like night and day, yesterday's motel and today's hotel. This was so much plusher. I'm glad…read morewe went from low to high end. Soon as you walk in the electric doors I could tell the difference. The beautifully decorated lobby, the plush dining area for breakfast, the food pantry. All that our last hotel was lacking. The dining room is huge. Tables, booths, and open space. It holds so many people. Maybe 10 tables, 4 people per table 40 people. The last hotel had 4 tables at 4 person per table, 26 people. So much bigger and spread out. Breakfast is a hot and cold breakfast. The last hotel was just the cold breakfast. Here there were egg muffins sandwiches, quiche, and soufflés. 3 kinds of cold cereal, including my fav red berries. Chocolate, reg, and oat milk. Our last hotel lacked milk and cereal and hard boiled eggs. Hard boiled eggs, waffle machine, muffins and loafs, bagels , toast, ect. And of course there was a coffee and tea bar. The room wasn't as a good set up as our last one. Our last one had a bistro table and chairs and the desk and chair. A good set up to play cards or watch tv. The room was fresh, clean, and had no smell. We had a king bed, fridge, microwave, coffee makers, actual closet with iron and board. This hotel had a gym with treadmills, elliptical machine, weights, kettle balls, and exercise balls. Both hotels had pools, this one also had a hot tub. Overall this was a wonder hotel and I highly reccomend it to others. It's in the middle of a strip of shopping, eateries, gas stations, car washes, ect.

If you have business in Downtown Fresno trust me, stay in Clovis and take an Uber/Lyft to Downtown. This area has gone downhill over the years and a lot of businesses have closed. There aren't many options of places to grab food/coffee. You'll be settling. This hotel is old. I'm not exaggerating. I stayed here when in the mid 90s! Yes, it's clean, but the AC in the room didn't work so I didn't get much sleep because I was hot. My colleague said her AC worked but each time it turned on/off it startled her and woke her up. If you must stay here, download the app and use the remote check in to avoid dealing with the terrible front desk staff. They don't smile, they're not pleasant to speak with and they are 100% uninterested in being helpful. Dealing with their attitudes was not what I needed after a long day of travel. Again, I'm not exaggerating... when my colleague arrived 3 hours after me, I asked her how her check in experience was and before I even told her about mine she said "the employee who checked me in was a real piece of work!" I often stay at Hilton properties not because they're great, but because we travel with our pet and Hilton makes that easy. I didn't have my pet this time, but wanted to be walking distance to the convention center. HUGE MISTAKE! I can overlook an aging property, but I can't accept rude employees who take their frustrations out on customers.

Dear Sonesta Management,…read more I am writing to sincerely thank Erica, the manager who facilitated our recent overnight stay. My family and I traveled from Reno, Nevada, to watch our son compete in the High School State Finals in Fowler. After a long six-hour drive, we arrived earlier than expected. I contacted the front desk to ask about an early check-in, and Erica went above and beyond. Not only did she have a room ready immediately, but she also arranged for our family to stay in a spacious two-bedroom suite. Having served as a police officer in the Fresno area for 28 years, I remember this location well from its days as a Residence Inn. I was very impressed by the transformation. The hotel offered a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, exactly what we needed after our travels. Most importantly, the room was spotless. Erica's professionalism and hospitality ensured our family had a safe, clean, and comfortable environment during a very important weekend for our son. This will definitely be our go-to place whenever we return to Fresno to visit family. Please pass along our thanks to Erica for her outstanding work. Best regards, Curtis Davis

However, I have never felt unsafe parking and going to my room. The suites are laid out fairly well -with good size tv's in both rooms. There is also a fridge and mini kitchen area should you need it. This hotel is the ultimate 3 star experience which I have bumped up -because of the solid breakfast in the morning. I am also a rewards member , and have been for a while. My points are adding up , but I don't have enough for any discounts or anything. Oh , and be prepared for a 250.00 hold on your credit card - for " incidentals ". Seems excessive but they can do what they want as it is their property.

I want to give a shoutout to I think her name is Keesha. She recommended items from the bistro and the food was delicious!! Workers stated that the starbucks is open 24-7 for coffee which was nice since I had to stay up late. Room was super clean and the hallway smelled so good and fresh. The only thing is that I wish the shower pressure was a bit stronger as I have very long hair. I would suggest that the rooms get a better desk chair as it was hard to sit for long periods of time due to the hardness of it. Other than that, I just couldn't find any reason to give this place 4 stars or lower.
