Two indoor tennis courts - with a couple that runs it - and amazing prices. Very clean facilities - bathrooms - snacks - and even stringing available. If you live here - the $35 a month (with a one year contract) and $5 per person per hour is an incredible deal. We paid $15 an hour per person during the week and $20 for Friday night. If you love tennis - and INDOORS - this is the only place that I know of - and it's awesome!

Brian offers novice and intermediate group classes throughout the week and a package of six sessions costs $225. Classes take place at Kirk Monroe Tennis Center in Coconut Grove in the evenings. The classes I attend start at 8:00 pm and last until 9:30 pm, with an optional warmup at 7:30 pm. Attendance varies but is usually anywhere from 4-8 people depending on the night. Overall, I've learned a ton the handful of times I've gone. Brian is very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. My fellow classmates are super friendly and encouraging... I'm starting to progress and will hopefully be confident enough one day to take part in one of the tournaments he organizes. No matter where you are on your tennis journey, I'd recommend giving Backhand City a try if you're looking to fine tune your skills!

Maybe a week to hear back. Only way you can get a pickleball lesson from Brian is by signing up for a months-long commitment. Might be a great tennis resource, but if you're looking for a pickleball lesson, don't start here. Spoiler alert: it doesn't take several months to learn how to play Pickleball. Brian wasn't especially cordial, but he did offer a few other suggestions. Because it took him forever to respond, however, I had already gotten a great response from a few other places.

Upon arrival you have to go to the little office near the courts (there's tennis and racket ball courts). The office is a little sketchy but when we walked in there was a friendly guy behind the counter. He informed us that it was $3 per person per hour which was pretty cheap if you ask me. We took our own tennis balls and rackets not sure if the have some there to rent. The court was nice and once the sun started going down the court lights turned on which was nice because you can keep playing after sundown.

I've now taken three weekend classes from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. It's so much fun! Classes take place at the rooftop of the Conrad which is great if you live in Brickell. Clinics consist of a warmup, hitting drills, and a variety of games that change depending on the day. Over the weekend, I've seen classes range from six to 15 people, but can't speak for the weekday evening classes. There are levels of ALL sorts, from those just starting to way advanced players. You usually break up into two groups divided by skill level about half way through. The music is bumping and Jason has all the equipment you may need! Overall, very happy to have found TennisFit to add this dynamic workout to my routine.

You'd figure with all of the above going on that more people would know about this place, but I find myself constantly having to tell people about this place for tennis. But not only am I the first to review this center, I had to add this place to Yelp. Having lived on Sans Souci Blvd. for a number of years, I was fortunate enough to live next to, what I consider to be, the finest public tennis center this side of the Biscayne Bay. The courts are well-maintained, the prices are very reasonable ($4/person to rent a court and $2.50/person if you're a North Miami resident), and the center has a shop stocked with snacks and equipment. The best part is that I've never had to wait or had any difficulty getting a court whenever I've wanted (but you might find yourself waiting for the clay court). So, let's just keep this a secret between us. Okay?
