We met R2 at a bridal show and decided to go with them. My husband and I paid over a thousand for 2 hours of service so that we would be able to have the rights to the images. Leading up to the wedding Renee was prompt and professional. Her and her assistant arrive on site on time and moved around the ceremony getting some good shots with out being distracting. Now for the not so good. We discusses the shots we wanted before hand and it was simple. Getting ready images (got that), detail shots (got that), ceremony (yes again), and afterwards we wanted the family photo and wedding party shots. Unfortunately due to my husbands large one family photo (all of the people were present and ready) Renee told us afterwards we had ran out of time (took her longer to put everyone in a line) so we had to choose to take our individual bride and groom photos or the ones with me and my bridesmaids and moh / the groom and his men and BM. We of course had chosen to have the bride and groom photos. The other option was to add an additional hour for a crazy price just to have shots that we thought would be included. To this day I kick myself and I wish I was I had my photo with my sister (maid of honor) and I or together from our wedding. Also our couple shots were of good quality but I felt the lacked creativity. The photographers other work has a high fashion style to it this is not what we got at all. I'm content with the images but not 100% satisfied and if I could do it over I would either chose differently or express my concerns during the wedding. read more

I don't even know how to organize this review because there was SO much awesomeness working with the R2 family!! We initially met the R2 family at a Wedding Expo in Phoenix. We were overwhelmed walking through the aisles upon aisles of very nice looking wedding and engagement photos (and eating plenty of sample cake and food from the caterers of course :P). How were we going to pick an amazing photographer when every picture looked the same? Just then, something magical happened. We turned around to see this rockin' display of totally rad pictures. Every photo displayed was full of color, awesome backgrounds, and cool, funky lines. What we have loved about working with R2 is that they think outside the box and will do whatever they need to capture that amazing photo. Outside of how amazing the photos looked, the R2 family is so great to work with. We always felt so comfortable with everyone - whether it was meeting at the expo, having an e-sesh, discussing packages, or planning the timeline for our big day. They also made us feel like we belonged in the pages of Men's Vogue which was kind of fun too To be honest, what really sold us on R2 was our gut feeling. Something just feels SO right about going with R2. We wanted to have cool people at our wedding... We wanted to have people we would invite to the wedding working with us on our big day. (I don't know how to explain that part more... but that's a big thing). We were lucky enough to work with many different members of the R2 family throughout our experience from the E-Sesh, love is love shoot, and our actual wedding. The best part is that every picture that was taken has that awesome R2 flair! While members of the team have their own style, each photo is a stunning piece of art not just a pretty picture. Andy & Mykie were so much fun to work with! Besides being amazing, creative, and talented behind the lens it was so much fun having them be part of our big day. Andy has such a good eye to frame the perfect picture. Mykie would catch so many candid moments to really capture the moments. Both Andy and Mykie were fun and complimentary that we felt totally comfortable. Both encouraged us to share ideas and really collaborate to contribute to the shoot. When planning our wedding, my husband and I had a list of priorities. At the top of that list was photography, because at the end of the day, aside from memories and a marriage certificate, that is what you get to keep! We found R2 after stumbling around the phoenix bridal show and were instantly captivated by their unique style - and it is different in the best way possible. No boring Pinterest photos here! We talked to Robin, got their prices, and when we were still hung over by the brain number expo, we filled out their AMAZING mad lib questionnaire and had a sneaking suspicion we were on to something great. We met with Robin at their Gilbert studio and after discussing the R2 philosophy of not only getting a wedding photographer, but a family photographer we were in. We were on a small budget, but we were more than willing to plop down a significant portion of that budget for these amazing photographers...booking their top-tier package, which included the engagement session + guest book, 8 hours of wedding photography with Robin and Renee, and then an ADDITIONAL "Vogue" session (I'll get to that), and photography for life - 1 session a year for EVER. So then the amazing-ness began! Robin and Renee totally 'put up with' some of our crazy requests. My husband and I came up with a crazy engagement-photo theme of mad scientists and taking over the world, and these girls made it happen. Topped off with an awesome Comic-book themed guest book (which we get compliments on every time someone sees it prominently displayed in our house). Our wedding photos are phenomenal. I have a few on my work computer and co-workers come by all the time and are blown away that they are actually -my- wedding photos. Take a look through their website if you have doubts. They make everyone look like a freakin' model. Oh, did I mention you get your photos in like 2 weeks? Yeah. Fully finished photos lightening fast. Their turn-around is amazing. Then...the vogue session. To follow our themed engagement session, my husband and I thought, "Hey! Why not do a 'Hangover' style session in Vegas?" ...and R2 was like, Heck ya! So, they met up with us in Vegas, paid for me to have my hair and make-up done, and we ventured along the strip getting the coolest photos ever. In addition to getting more than what you pay for, R2 throws parties, game nights, and get-togethers for their clients. They really do treat everyone like family, so you get so much more than a wedding photographer. Weddings are very expensive. You really get everything and more when you hire these ladies. If I could give them more stars I would! From the moment my husband and I got engaged I knew that photos were going to be with us forever and you only get one shot at them. So after looking and looking and finding nothing I finally stumbled upon these two wonderful woman & knew no matter what we had to have them! Robin & Renee go above and beyond and their photos are mind blowingly great! They shot our engagement photos which friends and family described as something out of a magazine, a session with my mother sister and my grandmother before she passed in my wedding dress, our wedding, & soon to be our maternity photos. Along with some tear jerking videos, one from the day at the dress shop and the other from our big day. They are so professional but at the same time shooting with them is like hanging out with an old friend...even when you've just barely met them! They can take the most awkward person and make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. These two have grown to be like family and I can honestly say if you are looking for kick butt wedding photos, a ton of fun, and no stress look them up! The R2 Studio will not disappoint!! Holy cow where do I begin...My wife and I have been R2 clients for the past four years. We where lucky that one of my wive's friends had used R2 for their wedding, so when it came time to find a wedding photographer, it was a very short list to check out. Upon meeting Robin (one 1/2 of R2) we fell in love with their photography and personalities. In the past four years we have used R2 for our engagement shoot, wedding, Vogue Sesh (one year anniversary shoot), and just a month ago had them shoot our 3 year anniversary session. Heck we love them so much we paid a good chunk of change to be their clients for life! If you're looking for the boring normal wedding photographers or you have to be "creative" and use everything off of Pinterest...move on. R2 is not for you. If you want an EXPERIENCE unlike anything else R2 is for you! R2 is edgy and super creative. Like I said before, my wife and I have had four separate photography sessions with R2 and every time R2 blows my mind with the photos! There's always something different. Either it be the way they get the backgrounds to POP or a sweet way to pose...there's always something cool about it! Look wedding photography is not cheap. I get it, everything wedding related is expensive. But look...in 10 years will you remember your cake? It has been 3 years for my wife and I, yup don't remember the cake. But what do I remember? My awesome photos. We have them everywhere in our house...you will too one day (well not pictures of us...). R2 is worth every penny. I should rephrase something I said...we are not R2's clients. We are their friends and family. This is really what makes R2 different. R2 spends more than just a quick few minutes getting your sale and wont see you again until your wedding. They actively spend time getting to know YOU and your tastes and ideas for your wedding/shoot. I've had several of my friends get married (and didn't listen to me when I said to hire R2)...yeah big difference. There's no rapport between the photographer and clients. Yeah you may get decent pictures...but if your photographer actually knows how to get the best smile/pose out of you, don't you think it's worth it? Still haven't convinced you? I can't say enough about how awesome our wedding photos came out. My wife and I had a pretty unconventional wedding - and R2 handled it perfectly. We had our wedding at night outside and knew It would take some good photographers to capture our ceremony and reception and they nailed it! We got our pictures back wicked fast and got our wedding book within two days of approving it (I actually think it came NEXT day). Everyone was super professional, fun, and got stuff done when it needed to be. They were what you want and need on your wedding day. Robin and Renee were the best decision I made on my wedding day...well with the exception of whom I chose to marry :) We booked them with only 3 months til the wedding and they walked us thru every step to ensure we had pictures to last a lifetime. Now, you may think- sounds easy. Not so much, we live in LA they are based in AZ and we were getting married in Vegas. Despite, never meeting them face to face until our wedding day (although many skype sessions were had) we instantly felt connected to them. They were there in very intimate moments as we got ready yet we never seemed to bothered by their presence. Let me also say that they convinced me (which if you knew me would know that I'm not easily swayed) of dedicating 2 hours of time to do a "first look." These pictures are my favorite of the whole day because they truly capture what our wedding day was all about- me and my husband bonding and enjoying our joyous occasion. My only regret is that I didn't make them stay for tequila shots after they were done shooting. And yes, i didn't have them stay til the bitter end becuase- Let's just say some memories were supposed to stay in Vegas ;) We have since done a vogue shoot with them that was also amazing! However, I am still dying to trash my dress ...Holler! This will be the best investment you make and you will have memories to last a lifetime. I knew I HAD TO HAVE R2 when I saw their images and then met them. Their work and passion for what they do instantly resonated with me, and I knew that I had to have them for my wedding no matter what. I instantly trusted them with this precious moment to capture right off the bat- I think that says a lot. I sent R2 an email to inquire about their availability for our wedding, and I instantly received a response! I think within 24 hours we were skyping with Robin so we could seal the deal (we were unable to meet with them in person, so they suggested video chat!) Similar to other reviews, my husband and I could go on and on about working with them and our photographs! One of our favorite parts about working with R2 is: 1. Their response time and communication (and wicked fast return time on the pictures). 2. Their easy to get a long with personalities. 3. I almost don't want to write this review because I want to hoard R2 for myself.... but I decided not to be so selfish and share these amazing ladies with the world. R2 consists of owners and photographers Robin and Renee, amazing ladies who have some insane talent. Seriously, check out their website, it is pretty wonderful. They have other associates who do photography and videography. We had Robin and Renee and a team of others capture our wedding and do an (included) engagement session (e sesh in R2 terms). The pictures are beautiful and modern. So much so that we have a bunch hanging in our house without it seeming too arrogant/lame... at least I don't think so anyway. Most of their work is fairly 'out of the box' or modern, but they certainly work with you and make your photos fit your personality. Robin and Renee spent a lot of time meeting with us to get to know us and understand what we wanted for both sessions. They made even our oddest requests happen (e.g. I wanted pictures of my sitting on the ground in an alley in my wedding dress... they made it happen.... we wanted pictures at the light rail and, despite almost getting in trouble with the federal police, they made it happen!). We just received our album today (and yes, they insist you get an album), and it is just wonderful. Very professional and artistic. I can see it being something we can display forever. Now, I can go on and on about their photography, but beyond that, they are really cool people and they make you feel like you are part of their family. They even put on yearly proms (which are freakin awesome). A lot of stuff didn't go the way I wished it had for my wedding, but this was the one thing that went perfectly. We first hired R2 to shoot family photos for us. On a whim, we decided since they were coming all the way to Hawaii for us-- we should get married (true story) :) We adore our wedding photos! I have them all over my house!! The prints from that day, are GORGEOUS and Robin made it so easy to obtain these even though we live in Hawaii! We took a family trip to Disneyland recently and had asked R2 if they would come and photograph our family there. They drove all the way from Arizona, up to Anaheim to do this. Seriously, customer service is on point with these girls!! Again, knocked those images out of the park!! Our 3rd session was just a few months ago.. on the beautiful beaches of Oahu! Crazy, insane, amazing, bad ass photos from that session!! This duo is super talented and we have already arranged for our spring session with them! I wish I could provide a positive review for R2 Studios. Unfortunately, beyond their talent, which is considerable, there is nothing to recommend them for. In my opinion, this company's staff has no appreciation of how their behavior might impact one's wedding experience. We had problems almost from the start. As this was more than 1 1/2 years from the wedding, I suggested we part ways and that R2 refund our monies. The owner and principle, Robin, refused. To show how contentious and difficult these interactions were, I will share the email exchanges. Here is the one where she responds to my suggestion we part ways: ______ Oh sure. So, there are a few options that you two have. You have paid us around $2500 and have around $2500 left to pay us. I have not cashed the check that was recently sent out in light of the recent communication because I wasn't sure what you were going to do. If you decide to move forward with another photographer and use the $2500 paid towards some awesome artwork from us, I can definitely recommend some great photographers who are in the $2000-$2500 range so that not all is lost. With this option would you be able to get everything you want from your engagement session and more. The choices I have on my end would be to continue or cancel the contract as it states. Should I decide to cancel that is when you would receive a refund for your wedding contract. The engagement session is separate and there would not be a refund for that as I provided you with the services that I had agreed to. _____ As she had more than $2500 of our money, she essentially strong armed us into staying engaged with her or forfeit all of that money (with her providing zero in return). After we reviewed our digital images it became clear we would not be able to print these any larger than 8x10 based on the quality of the digital images she provided. When asked about this we received the following from Robin of R2: ______ Hi Rachel, We provide images in 8x10 max resolution to ensure that all enlargements are printed to our quality standards here at R2 :) We take these awesome photos and we want to make sure that you are enjoying their full awesomeness when they are printed and turned into artwork. We love when our couples turn their homes into their own personal museum of artwork that they and their families can appreciate for many, many years to come. Therefore we provide museum quality artwork to our clients. ______ Now that would be fine if they didn't charge an arm and a leg for that "museum quality" artwork. But they do. And, worse, they use a regular photo lab, Bay Photo Lab, to produce this artwork. You or I could provide an image taken on a camera and pay $589 to have a 60x30 metal print sent to our home. Done. But, if Robin takes the photo (a photo she was already paid to take!) she thinks she is entitled to charge FIVE TIMES more than Bay Photo Lab would and then use them as the produce of the metal print. That's five times OVER the retail price. Here is Robin's email describing this situation: _______ It appears that you searched the internet for the address that is printed on the shipping label of the print that I had delivered to your home. I am basing this assumption on the fact that the name of the print lab is NEVER printed on the shipping label. While this was resourceful, I am not clear on the intent behind doing this. Are you unhappy with the quality of the materials or the coloring of the print itself? I have never had a client do that, and I feel that it is that it is unfortunate that you felt the need to investigate this. It certainly makes me wonder what prompted you to do so. It is important to understand that the prices shown on Bay Photo's website are ONLY in relation to the materials we use to create the final artwork that we provide our clients with. Just as a painter has to purchase a canvas, oils, and brushes, we too have to purchase the materials that our photographs are printed on so that we can present them to you. Otherwise, we would be providing digital products only and we simply don't believe that that is the BEST way to enjoy any kind of artwork....Basically, had you wanted a 60x30 sheet of metal with metal mounting posts WITHOUT THE PHOTO printed on it and you wanted to install it yourself, that would have cost you $589 from Bay Photo. I wonder what the markup on their materials is? _____ These are just three of the many, emails I received as I tried to navigate through this process with R2. This company's inability to work WITH us as clients and their outrageous pricing structures are just some of the reasons we can't recommend. Don't be fooled by beautiful images. Read the style of emails sent, the outrageously inflated perception of the photographs and how that justifies holding peoples' memories hostage and charging a fortune for them. Again, just my opinion but, go somewhere else for your wedding photos. I wish we had. read more

They go above and beyond to get just the right shot - not only that but they take the time to walk through a timeline of how the day is going to go and offer professional advice as to whether or not there is enough time to do the shots you want and make sure there are no surprises on the big day. I feel like they offer a secondary service as an event coordinator in addition to their photography skills, which is so valuable! When my husband and I originally started planning our wedding we were going to use a photographer that comes with the venue package. I looked at the books the venue had out and they all looked good....good enough I should say. Then we met with Renee and Robin because we wanted to make sure we did it right. The moment we met with them and saw their work we knew we would do whatever possible to make sure our wedding budget included them. They gave venue advice, met with us many times before the wedding to plan and made sure we were comfortable. We did an e-sesh (engagement) with R2 in Flagstaff and the pictures turned out amazing. I hate having pictures taken and they made the experience so much fun. On wedding day, R2 and the video crew showed up promptly and not only got awesome shots but also helped with any little wedding details we needed. This is what I feel made them stand out even more because they cared about us having a great day not just how many hours they had to be there. Then when we got our pictures and album back we loved absolutely every picture. Our wedding videos are amazing too. The pictures don't look forced, they aren't the standard shots everyone at the venue gets and we had such a good rapport with R2 that or smiles are genuine because we were laughing and having a great time. We also did a vogue/trash the dress session with R2 in Kauai. We weren't going to just fly over someone we didn't love to Hawaii. I can't even express to you how freaking amazing our voice pictures are. They went above and beyond to make the experience amazing for us. They are one of kind and you will never regret hiring them. R2 are 100% professional and will give you the best pictures but they will also be a friend for life who you genuinely like being around.
