The store is located in an office park, and I must admit that I find the location superb for a yarn-o-holic like myself. It is quiet with ample parking making it perfect for an open knitting session with your friends :-) Though I also find that little yarn nooks in commercial districts are super cute too. They just have this cool nerdy chic way of standing out. Apart from Madeline Tosh, Yarn Culture carries indie yarns not available to other Local Yarn Stores as covered on the previous review. The store is very neat and organized with good lighting...VERRRY important for open knitting. I am looking forward to my next visit...and yarn haul!

Many of the used guns that came through that store were VERY hard to find anywhere around the area and I had planned on buying my first gun from them but unfortunately Pro Gun Services closed before I was able to buy one. Fortunately one of the guys who worked at Pro Gun Services opened up Kinton Guns not to long after and they carry old/used guns that I can't seem to stop buying.

I learned of Hobby House Needleworks several years ago and I was excited to visit when traveling in…read moreNY recently. The shop moved in 2024 and is now 3 stores in one, featuring quilting, wool, and needlework. It's a lovely, colorful, creative space! The needlework focus is mostly cross stitch plus a small section of painted canvases upstairs. There are countless finished models on display, and the chart selection features many traditional, primitive and sampler designs. The shop offers a wide selection of thread lines and hand-dyed linens. The wool section is excellent and includes a good selection of small kits. There are many separate rooms and displays, and you can linger and enjoy them at your own pace. I was happy to purchase the Hobby House Landing sampler, which is an antique sampler adaptation.

She never expected to find a store with such great selection of wool felts and wool pieces. The store was huge and very sewing craft focused, with embroidery, quilting, and wool felting materials. It's pretty a niche hobby shop because it exclusively caters to these kinds of projects (as opposed to knitting, crocheting, etc). It has everything you could think of for the types of sewing hobbies that the store caters to, however. Highly recommend a visit for anyone into sewing crafts!
