First, I wasn't happy to have traveled 8 time zones to check in and find out we owe an extra $300 for a room with an extra bed for my daughter. It seems that should have been dealt with before we arrived. That was a big downside. I give them the benefit of the doubt that it could have been our travel agency's fault.
I was surprised how big the room was considering most reviews said the rooms were crammed. It wasn't a fancy room but it was clean. The room had radiators that heated up nicely with it being below freezing outside.
Pros:
-We got little packs of cookies each day with the coffee/teas
-the room over looked the queens tower that was lit up at night
-it's within walking distance to Harrods, the underground trains, bus stop and Kensington
- breakfast had a nice assortment of sausage, beans, toast, cheeses, fruit, cereals, pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt and more
- the coffee at breakfast was an automatic espresso machine you could make lattes, cappuccinos, etc
- beds were comfortable
- they had 2 USB ports on the wall, which made it easier to charge all of our devices
- there was a little closet to hang clothes and hooks for coats
Cons:
- we never had enough towels
- you could hear traffic from outside
-sheets weren't changed in 4 days...I know because I dropped chocolate and a banana on them the first day and the stain was there day after day
Overall we had a good stay. The location was a plus as well as the hot breakfast each day. read more
