What a great shop. It had a calm atmosphere, good displays, the staff was welcoming and helpful without being pushy.

Pretty cute shop, the tumbled rocks section is the real plus here, cheap prices on tumbled and small specimens including ammonites. I will say sunstone, opalite, and aura Angel quartz aren't natural though if you're worried about that but the kyanite prices are awesome and legit specimens, same goes for the ammonites. They also have more "deluxe" samples available, although I would probably go to the rock store across the road also to check out their samples too read more

Wonderful little shop in downtown Fort Bragg. They have crystals, stones and locally made jewelry, all very reasonably priced. I ended up purchasing a piece of citrine crystal but considered a few other purchases. Very friendly service and local business to support. Rude lady who was the staff member. I went in there with the hopes of buying crystals with a budget of no more than $1k. It's a small shop that states "gems and crystals" on the outside. I went in there with the hopes of finding something nice and to my surprise, only small quarts/ crystals were there. When looking through the aisles, I mumbled to my "oh, no big crystals, no worries" when the lady at the front counters said, " oh I'm not worried, I'm very happy with what I have here." Well... there goes the business, small hole in the wall place and I'm sure she's "happy" with what she has. I immediately left to take my business elsewhere. read more

This is such a wonderful store! My sister and I visited while on a trip to the coast and found so many lovely little treasures at very reasonable prices. We both fell in love with a particular silver necklace but there was just one in stock. The owner graciously offered to order another one and ship it. Well, today I went out to my mailbox and found a little package containing that necklace, beautifully wrapped. It will always remind me of our fabulous trip and how kind this small business owner was to us. read more

I found this place to be a great place for buying the kids the rocks and minerals they wanted for their collection as well as affordable priced jewelry. I went in the shop just looking around and the woman never even said hello. Walked to the front of the store because she was eating in back. This woman is the owner. I asked if she knew what brand something was and she was so rude. She told me that she wouldn't tell me because she finds her own vendors and she doesn't want me buying from them. So I said if I ask you if it's a brand will you tell me because I didn't want to buy it unless it was a certain brand and she was so rude and just said no it's not. And then told me that that company wouldn't sell something for that price. I was trying to brush it off and be friendly but she huffed and puffed and continued to tell me I was wrong. So I decided to stop looking and leave. As I walked out I said have a great day and she completely ignored me. I am 100% about supporting local but I will never go back to her shop! read more

I'm still in shock to be lied to so blatantly and aggressively as by the owner (or perhaps son of the owner) of this store. My son picked out a rock he liked, but it didn't have a price. The lady behind the counter said they price items by weight, and called out a young-ish guy who was in the back of the store. He weighed another similar rock that had a price on it in order to get the price per ounce and then multiplied the price per ounce by the weight of the unpriced rock on his calculator, which was sitting on the counter in front of me. He then added another dollar or so to that total (we're only talking about a $10 rock here). When I queried why he was charging a higher price for this than the price per ounce, he at first denied it. I told him I'd seen the total on the calculator. Then he tried to stare me down, kind of threateningly. Then he said that it was the markup, and I pointed out that surely the price per ounce, based on the price sticker of the other rock, already included his markup. Then he stared at me again, again very aggressively, and said "I don't have to sell it to you!" I told him I was buying it anyway, as I didn't want to disappoint my child, but that he could have just been truthful and admit he'd marked it up further. Unbelievable! And what a bad taste to leave to a visitor to Fort Bragg. Over a dollar! read more

My dad has been taking me to rock shops since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, and The Quarry is hands down the best one I've ever been to. I've never seen such a wide variety of gems, rocks, and fossils from all over the world. And each specimen is super high quality! AND THE PRICES! Everything is so inexpensive; you can get a chess set made out of stone for sixty bucks. read more

I visited Fort Bragg and found this lovely little shop while I was there! I wanted to buy a tiny salt lamp she had but I had gotten distracted and forgot. So I reached out to her after I was already home because I was bummed I forgot to purchase it and she shipped it to me! Highly recommend going into her shop if you are in town! read more

I visit this store when I'm in Fort Bragg and it's great. The prices are great! There is always something there for the kids. The young man that works there is courteous and polite. We have always been able to go in and look around without being pushed into buying anything. And they have helped us find pieces and ordered them in for us. read more
