    Part of the pumpkin patch

Locally owned and operated which I LOVE. This pumpkin patch is a little gem in the middle of wine country that is family friendly and away from the tourist. The pumpkins are a great price and the owners go off the size of the pumpkins instead of weight. There is a variety of different pumpkins that you can cut off the vine yourself or pre-picked pumpkins in crates whichever is your preference. There is also a sunflower field and corn maze ($4) for additional fall activities. Definitely worth stopping by!

I am in love with this little pumpkin patch! We recently moved from the Bay Area and I didnt think I could find the unique specialty pumpkins I was used to decorating my porch with, but to my surprise, they grow even more gorgeous pumpkins than I was used to finding and the price was excellent!! They even scar their pumpkins with special words if your looking for an impressive fall display!! We couldn't pass up having a succulent decorating party with these gorgeous pumpkins too and I couldn't be happier! Support your local SLO farmers and go visit their gorgeous healthy pumpkin patch!! You won't be sorry!

This is a great pumpkin patch! You can pick your own pumpkin out in the field with a wheel barrel or pick one out that's already cut. They range in sizes from very large pumpkins to mini cute ones. Prices are great and they have a corn maze! I am definitely going back to pick out more.

Always have a great time coming here. Folks who run it are super nice and it is a lot of fun to choose your own pumpkin.

We returned during the week between Christmas and New Year's 2025 to discover the buildings and tenants were changed, but the overall impression was very good. Pros: - The mini farm: There are several corrals each with shelters, food troughs and water sources. Everything is well maintained. Two have a total of about 10 goats and one has 2 alpacas and 2 donkeys. It's not quite a petting zoo because you can't go into the corrals, but they can be fed through the fencing with food bought in a shop. They all seemed quite content. - The shops: SLO Ranch is not big, but it does have a nice selection of stores and restaurants. Everything was bright and fresh with friendly employees. - Specialty Food Shops: We walked into cheese and chocolate shops which were very appealing, great looking and reasonably priced. - Ambiance: Welcoming. There are lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Cons: - Restaurants: The quality might be good, but the variety is small. We saw a brewery, pizza place, Persian food, bakery (open only Friday-Sunday) and shops with biscuits and ice cream. The best looking place might be Lucy's Coffee which has a fairly big menu and lots of customers. - Parking: Okay on slow days, but the overflow must use a dirt lot. We didn't see a ton of people, but cars were already filling the lot. For us, the biggest draws were the animals, inviting shops and nice atmosphere.

I have been fortunate enough to have visited the ranch on a number of occasions and am always blown away. I don't think I have ever pulled onto the property without seeing deer in the field behind the barn. With Holly at the helm, guests can rest assured that their day will be everything they hoped for. With amenities that include a gorgeous guest house, tented banquet area, stunning, historical barn, full bar access, outdoor ceremony area, and more, Tar Creek is an exceptional venue choice. If the Central Coast is the location you've chosen for your destination wedding or event, I highly recommend you book a tour of this stunning property.

Matthew the owner and Holly the venue manager are so easy to work with. We told them what we were looking for in a venue and they checked all our boxes. We absolutely love the property and our guests were so impressed wondering how we even found the place. The propane fire pits are large and fully inflamed at night, perfect for our elderly family members that get cold easily. The two-way bar is so much fun and keeps your cocktail hour and reception so concise. Our bartender said it's one of their favorite bars to work at. The inside of the barn is absolutely stunning and we love having the option to do the reception dinner inside or outside. The ranch house was the perfect compliment for the rehearsal dinner, and getting ready the day of. Having the entire grounds for the wedding weekend is such a luxury. Everything is modern and elegant while maintaining the relaxing rustic ranch vibe we were going for. As we were leaving the property two days after getting married, I was getting emotional as I realized how much I'll miss this place. The only thing I regret is not exploring the property more as there is a lot of surrounding wilderness to enjoy. Fortunately you can rent the ranch house on Airbnb, which I can't wait to do for future anniversaries.
