We walked the strawberry field and picked our own baskets, then we shopped all the fruit inside. They even offer larger wicker baskets for holding your items. They were busy, but still attentive and efficient. . For all four of us, all of our totals were $30 or less. This will definitely be a regular produce spot now that I've found them! I have a mare recovering from surgery and they have a spacious outdoor stall for her while she recovers and if she needs to move indoors they have that option as well! My younger mare is living her best life in a pasture with other mares enjoying friends and freedom. The arena and facilities are well maintained and if you ever need help with your horses they have multiple training options on site for both horse and human. I have been lucky enough to have my younger mare do ground training with Mike in 2024 and learn everything she needed to be successful when she was started under saddle. Mike is also her favorite human, he is kind, fair, and incredibly knowledgeable! When it came time for her to start under saddle I knew Jaime would continue that work and he has giving my young one a solid foundation to grow from! She is confident on the trails (which they have onsite!!) and in the arena and is sensitive but not reactive, more than I could have ever dreamed about in a green broke horse. I fell in love with the facility and people while my younger mare was there for training and moved both of mine out full time. Kristy and the barn staff are so friendly and attentive to the horses, I can truly rest easy knowing they are both in good hands. So happy to have VEC as my new home barn!

Such a fun experience at Santa Margarita Ranch Ziplining! The adventure honestly starts the minute…read moreyou arrive. You check in at the main office downtown, then hop on a tour bus to the ranch property. Our driver was super informative and entertaining along the way. The drive itself felt like part of the experience with bumpy ranch roads, multiple gates, gorgeous scenery, and a real behind the scenes feel of the property. Once you arrive, the staff gets you geared up with all the safety equipment and everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and great with all ages. After gearing up, you take an old Army style jeep up the mountain and that ride alone was an adventure Super rickety, steep, and fun! We felt very safe the entire time because before every single zip line, the staff carefully checked everyone's safety gear and connections. There are 6 zip lines total and each one is different with spectacular views that change throughout the course. One thing to know is that you should be in reasonably good shape because there are mini hikes between some of the zip lines. There are lots of water stations along the course, which was great, but the experience is definitely active and you do not want to hold up the group. Totally worth it though and such a memorable Central Coast adventure for families, couples, teens, and adventurous kids!

The pens are huge, they feed & grain my horse twice a day and clean the pens every day but Sunday. The boarders are all friendly and helpful. Recently there has been a change of hands and Herman has retired. His niece, Elba, and her husband, Tony, have been doing an awesome job cleaning the place up. It's an old facility but everything works and is getting fixed now. I love going out there!

The ranch is very clean, free from any hazards with plenty of arenas to work your horse, and to get to some really great trails, you just ride out the gate and up the street. It's not a busy street, but rather a country two lane paved road with trails on the side. Once you reach the end, the roads are not paved and are perfect for trail riding. They feed really great quality hay twice a day, have automatic watering systems in place, great stalls indoor with paddocks, and lots of extras! They also feed your supplements daily for no extra charge! Best of all, they are a super nice family, take great care of the boarders, and have a beautiful, safe place for your loved ones.

The Furtado Family has owned the ranch forever and thankfully they're opened the space up for events. It's tucked away in its own valley located in San Luis Obispo Wine Country. It's the perfect place for a wedding because it's got one barn for the catering and the other for reception. We had our wedding at the Loma Grande Ranch on September 19, 2015. Our wedding was originally supposed to happen a year earlier, in September 2014, but I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months before our wedding date and the previous venue we booked told us we couldn't have the wedding there anymore. Lost and upset, we started looking for another venue in SLO County when we found Loma Grande. What a gift! Nancy and the whole Furtado family were so welcoming and warm and we're so happy we ended up having our wedding there!!! It had way more room and we were able to fit all 275 guests inside the barn without a problem! The great part was we were allowed to bring in our own food and alcohol so we were free to choose the catering company. Nancy was also great with letting us visit whenever we were in the area to get a lay of the land. Not to mention they're the most affordable ranch in the area. The barn was absolutely beautiful during the day and even more magical at night. The string lights between the two barns made the best setting for a night of drinks and dancing. We couldn't have been any luckier with the venue. Thank you Loma Grande for an unforgettable event!!!
