So the Big K headed in first while I went to Dollarama nearby to waste some time. How long could buying a hockey stick take? I finally had to enter National Sports to investigate the Big K's disappearance and within record time I was greeted by a very friendly salesperson who not only found The Big K for me, but three perfectly wonderful, very expensive hockey sticks that could significantly improve The Big K's game (and in sum total cost more than my dishwasher.) After much careful consideration, The Big K finally settled on "just one" (thank goodness) from this neatly organized and well-stocked store. I rushed the Big K with stick in hand to the check-out (in an effort to prevent him from buying anything else.) Knowledgeable staff! Nearly miraculous shoe find…read more I've been looking for a comfortable pair of shoes for over a year (maybe more). I have specialty orthotics and struggled wearing the wrong shoes with them which meant they added little comfort and I had no clue why. I usually take hours shopping for shoes and can't find something satisfactory. Bev, working there, asked me if I needed help and I gave her the rundown with the expectation that she wouldn't be much assistance as has been the case in every other store. Instead, she blew me away by finding the perfect pair of shoes I needed. The second I tried them on my jaw dropped due to the comfort. She explained to me exactly why my current shoes didn't help (they weren't built for orthotics at all!) I was out of there in 20 minutes. Anyway I'm very happy. They train their staff well and ensure that they are familiar with the kinds of product they sell (she explained to me that's how she knew so much). A very worthy store of your dollars.

Everything is colour coordinated, from the clothes to scarves to jewellery everything is presented boutique-style. They sell purses (guess) shoes, and a small area is dedicated to men's clothing. The store is located in a plaza on the east side of Yonge, so there is lots of parking. There is always specially priced clothes in racks outside the store. Trust me when I say you shouldn't pass it up. I have found many treasured pieces there. At the end of the season Cheryl the owner reduces her clothes by 50%. She sends out emails to her regular shoppers so you get first dibs on the sales. Staff are always friendly and you feel like you just want to go there and hang out. They call themselves "experts" in fitting pointe shoes, but that's not the case. Unfortunately my daughter had a very poor experience with the recommended shoe and fit, and while I understand that it's outside the return/replacement policy, the arrogance in response from the store is astounding. They don't care to make the situation right when they were clearly wrong in their recommendation and not only contributed to a horrible experience by a first time pointe shoe user, but also jeopardized her foot health in the process. Of course, they don't see it that way and say that they would never have said this or that. They hide behind "come in and let us have a look and see if we can recommend anything to improve the situation...if not, we may offer a discount on another shoe if this one can't be worn". As I said to the store owner, if I need to buy another pair of pointe shoes, I will be doing it at another establishment, not their store. I'm saddened that my daughter's experience was marred by their lack of knowledge and an incorrect recommendation and improper fit.
