I was in a crisis. I had purchased and owned a Prusa MK3s and suffered a catastrophic print error. This caused my extruder to partially melt and I did not have any back up parts printed to resolve my issue. After pulling the needed files from the support section of the Prusa site. The Printed Meeple were able to print my files and get me back up and running. Thank you for all of your help! PS the error was my fault as I noticed that I had pinched the wiring for thermistor. Once I replaced that ( go figure I had an extra one of those.) my printer is rock solid and *fingers crossed* not a single print error in the last month! read more

This place has a place for people to come in and play DND. They sell a lot of pieces and sets of dice for it as well as other similar games like dnd. I'm not the most familiar with it as I come to bring my 13 year old son. You can buy a membership monthly to the store which gives you a pretty good discount on the merchandise which is worth it if your buying often. They sell snack and have a drink fountain for the players as well. read more

Drop off a STL file on July 20th to be printed and was told my turn around time would be sometime "next week." I had called almost 2 weeks in and spoke to representative that they would start on my file soon! (note that my file takes less than a hour to print) and had not heard any word since. I had gotten a email regarding my file on the 10th of August if I had any color preferences. I responded and had not heard since. I called on the 13th for an update and was told that they would start my file 'soon.' I had sent 2 emails for an update with no response between now and the 13th. I ultimately ending up trying another 3D printing service down the street and had my file printed same day for the same price. 100% would not recommend this place for anything service related. read more

The store is one of the only that I know of that does 3D printing with an option to buy filament and I think that is where they focus their business structure. The did have a wide variety of board games which was nice to view except that it was disheveled and seemed unorganized. They have a ton of different card sleeves for Magic and I appreciate the large print for prices behind the counter. They do have fountain drinks and hot dogs available. I was not spoken to until I approached a staff member to ask questions about the store. I appreciate not being hounded but a little hello could have made me feel like I was welcomed. This establishment does have a huge library of board games, but you need to pay to play, or become a member and pay a monthly fee. I asked for a brochure to get accurate reporting but the staff member said none were available. The store set up was a traditional board game/magic store, basic table set up. I don't know if you can reserve any of the limited seating. I would go back for printing but I'm not sure I'd be able to stay to play as there is very little seating. That being said, it was a Monday and maybe there was an event that took up the majority of the seating. The only other thing I had an issue with was the funky pops that were "target exclusives" but were obviously not at target. Another plus if you're a magic of TCG player is that you have plenty of storage options to choose from at this store. read more

I LOVE board games (and card games and dice games and and and...) So when we showed up and saw all of their playable games ($5 for all you can play and drink soft drinks per person) I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I didn't want to leave. That was just the beginning. We actually showed up before the grand opening weekend and they were still getting situated, yet they STILL gave us a tour and introduced us to everyone involved and since they are family and friends it made us feel like family and friends with them. They still recognize us when we come in. I've been to other game stores and they're generally dark and have smelled (it became a theme) but this place is bright with a wall of windows, it smells good, and the bathrooms are clean (you know that's never a guarantee in other stores). They have a great selection of games for sale on the floor and they're always willing to help you out if you don't see something. Like strategy? They have it. Deck building? Done. Role playing? So many! Don't know what you like? Become a Meeple People and just live there. I know I wish I could. I haven't even taken advantage of their 3d printing or their painting and vinyl sections! I'll have to have them teach me the software- which they have computers and software already there so that will be handy. read more

Some of the nicest owners you will ever meet. They are giant kids who love all types of games. If you ever wanted to try 3D printing they are very knowlagable and can help you find fun things to print. They run a Magic the Gathering league on tuesdays in a very relaxed casual atmosphere. They also have groups for DnD on saturdays (for kids and adults, completely new or years of experience). They have groups playing too many bones, catan, marvel heros, klask, and a ton of other games. My wife and I were visiting our daughter and her family in San Antonio. When we came into "The Printed Meeple" store on Monday (this week), they were just opening up in the morning. I met store co-owners Toby Stewart and Clay Fambro. Their store looks like a fun place. Everything was clean, organized, and pleasant. While their store has been open less than a year, I was amazed to see the great variety of games one can play, all neatly organized on the wall. Both Clay and Toby were friendly, and took the time to explain to me what they're doing, and the challenges during the pandemic. My wife placed an order for several things, including 3D printed chess pieces (ours at home in Utah often get broken). These 'Meeple People' pieces seem sturdy enough to last through the treatment our 18 grandchildren will give them. And the pieces look so cool! (My wife only paid $15 for them, chose the colors-- Gold & Red-- she wanted them 3D printed in, and they were done by day's end! She also had them print a 3D articulated alligator (for our daughter in Florida, who saw her first couple of alligators there near Tampa that day), to help her remember that event. It is about 6 inches long, I would guess, and only $4.00 for them to 3D print it from scratch! (Probably cheaper and cooler than any souvenirs she might have bought there in Tampa)! My wife, Linnea, also bought a large articulated dolphin for our 4-year old granddaughter, Coco, who lives there in San Antonio. And she also bought an articulated octopus they printed that same day (Monday) for our nearly 14-year old granddaughter, Felicity. Better than articulated wood toys, I think these printed 3D plastic ones are likely much sturdier, and will probably last much longer (I'm guessing) than wooden ones generally do. And its slick how you can choose from among the plastic filaments these are 3D printed from which color, or colors, these are made from. In all, my wife said she paid only $50 or so for all she bought from there. Their prices are much lower than I expected! I sell promotional products, and I see what mass produced and sold (typically either injection or blow molded) plastic items sell for, and I am very impressed how economical their game and other pieces sell for that are 3D printed on site! BTW, it appears they have MANY stock designs available for different game pieces to 3D print in plastic, and maybe in metal too, for popular games like chess, checkers, etc, etc, etc. I believe these men are honest and upright. They seem to me to be worthy of the trust of the San Antonio public to place in them with their game needs, be it having custom pieces 3D printed, or playing the board games they have so many of. $10 would be a cheap date night (price wise) for a couple. Or $5 a head would be affordable for any family or date or friend group to play there. (I think soda pop and lemonade from their soda fountain is included). My oldest son (now 39) was into trying to develop games a dozen or so years back. If he ever dabbled in that again, I would recommend going to The Printed Meeple to get their help in custom 3D printing the game pieces used for board games. I would expect doing so would be not very hard, whether you live in San Antonio, or anywhere in the US! Who knows, even this old 66-year old fuddy duddy might work on a few game ideas, and get them to help me 3D print game pieces for them!?! I thought '"The Printed Meeple" sounded like a strange name for a business. I learned from my 12-year old grandson, Patrick, that any game piece used in a board game, like a thimble piece in Monopoly, as an example, is referred to as a "meeple" by nerds in the board game business, since it is a "people" that represents "me" on a game board. Hence, Toby and Clay are "people" who can help you 3D print "meeples" for any existing or new game anyone may come up with. And, also, for a nominal fee ($5, I believe, per person), anyone can come in and play from a selection of probably hundreds of board games, for hours. Let me add, their soda pop selection from their 'soda fountain' is very good. Included, I believe, when you pay the $5/person fee to come in and play games.
