The price is great at just 20 dollars for a fade. I like to go early Saturday mornings because there is usually only one or two people ahead of me and it can get packed quick in the afternoons. Recently I was lucky enough to have one of the other employees George give me a clean up. He did a Great job! The line up was perfect and the fade was on point. He is young, but don't let that fool you, he knows what he is doing. The low Yelp scores given by the other idiots really bug me; Modern Barber deserves a better score. This is an old-fashioned, no-nonsense main street barbershop. Joyce (the owner) is great; Lee (the quiet older guy) is great, too. I have NEVER had any problems with any cut from these wonderful people. Every $15 haircut from them has been perfect-- and I usually get a different cut every time I visit! Really; not long ago I had a shaped, 1/8 inch cut all around, blocked neck, thinned sideburns (I have a full beard). Before that I had a flat-top; usually I get a trim and shaped cut, barely comb-able length. It's right every time. Modern Barber has a "call ahead" reservation system. Phone them, ask for your number and how long to wait, then show up when they tell you. Perfect system. All you foolish fashionistas from Santa Barbara or Westwood or Brentwood, keep on paying $85 for your razor-cuts with rose water. I'll stick to my $15 clipper and scissor cuts from Lee.

She measured how much two inches was and showed me how that would look & I agreed that's what I wanted. She cut my hair, gave me a great shampoo (& conditioned it) and then combed it out since I didn't request styling or blow dry. But there weren't many affordable hair cuts around town, so I gave this place a try. Not only did they end up having a killer deal where I pay a monthly $17.99 for unlimited haircuts, I ended up finding the best hair stylist in town, Tesla. She does a great job on my hair, and when she isn't available, Ruth also does a fantastic job as well. I never thought I would find people I would trust with my hair at Supercuts but they are here, and they are awesome. If you're not a fan of the monthly deal, their haircuts are about $25 and they do have a military and senior discount. They are currently hiring as well!
