Yesterday my boyfriend and I attended this pottery shop on a whim because I wanted to do something creative for my birthday, he picked out a dinosaur piece and I picked a simple picture frame. All staff was very helpful , especially when I wanted to screen print stencil some words and needed help holding it down for proper placement. Clean organized studio lots to chose from. Can't wait to go back to pick up our pieces and fingers crossed they turn out nice Parking was easy as it's in a shopping center . You can bring your coffee or soda to drink while working. I also love the creativity art hand prints on the wall

Always a wonderful delight to be at The Prancing Pig!

This is our go to place to celebrate special family events. Everyone on staff are super friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. This time we were helped by Abby who stayed behind after her shift and gave us her absolute 110% to make sure we were completely satisfied with our projects! This kind gesture of hers made my daughter's second birthday all that much more special and memorable. There's no place like this anywhere nearby. The Prancing Pig is where you'd go to make very unique and special memories that will last forever. I highly recommend this place to families with young children looking to make lasting memories. Actually scratch that. Not young. Anybody regardless of age will love this place. We The Prancing Pig

I had been wanting to go to this establishment for a long time now and finally made it in last…read moreweekend. There is so much to pick from it. It was hard to decide prices ranging from $60+ to $7. However, after browsing the selection, my mom and I picked two items each! It took me and her about 2 hours and cost $50, which wasn't bad at all. The only reason I give four stars and not 5 the workers when we walked in were just sitting talking didn't really engage with us or show us around ask if it was our 1st time I had to tell them. Also, when painting, I thought they would come around to see if we needed anything or look at our work and tell us we need more layers I had to ask. However, personally, they were still nice, just not as engaged as i would like. All in all a great experience and super fun I will be back.

My wife and I were excited to end our first ever trip to Ice Fest by making a pottery souvenir. We…read morehad seen the Facebook advertisement to make a coffee mug with Carlisle Ice Fest stencils. However, our experience painting pottery left us very frustrated and determined never to return to this business when we're next in town. We've painted pottery in numerous studios in Maryland and New Hampshire, so we understand the basics of the process. When we entered the studio, no one greeted us or was seemingly working there to answer our questions. We wanted to know if there was a studio fee or if that was included in the pottery prices. Despite advertising the mugs, they were not easily identified as being the special. The staff, and I'm reluctant to actually call them employees, we're giggly teenagers who were more interested in chatting then helping customers. We had to stand in the check out line to get basic questions answered and ended up waiting for the owner to come over to have the stencil process explained. In addition to the lack of support from the staff, the owner/manager was busy running an adjacent store selling teas and other goods. As a result, it appeared no one was actually managing the pottery studio. Focusing on either the pottery studio or the other store instead of poorly running both would have improved everyone's experiences. The owner was gracious enough to ship our mugs to our home in Maryland. However, the packaging was poor and resulted in chipping one mug and completely cracking the other. Luckily, we can use the Japanese kintsugi technique to salvage our mugs as candle holders instead of their intended purpose.

A perfect date spot!…read more My husband and I visited The Pottery Stop for the first time today and had a great time! We texted beforehand to see if they had availability for potter painting today and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted, and a staff member explained the process. We got to pick out a piece to paint and there were a great variety of options! Pieces in different shapes and sizes from animals to more traditional dish ware and even fun holiday options. Each piece has a price listed on it as well which was nice to know before selecting an option. We picked matching cats to paint. We had a table reserved with our name on it and got some more directions once seated about tips on painting. The staff again was super friendly and helpful! After we got the intro, we painted away. There were a variety of tools, colors and staff helped us with any questions. Once we were done, we brought our pieces to the front and paid. You get your pieces back 1 week after your visit, and we can't wait to see how ours turned out!

We've never worked with glass before, but the staff explained the decorative options well and had plenty of materials and tools available. The staff was always helpful and very friendly, and did a great job supervising the class and helping out when needed. We paid the extra $10 each to 'slump' our flat glass discs into bowl shape after they are melted. I would have liked a slightly curved plate option but that wasn't available. This requires a second run through the kiln, so the price is understandable. Sadly, it may take up to 4 weeks for the plates to finish the fusing process, although we saw some finished examples that looked gorgeous. I had one minor complaint, and that's only because I'm being nit-picky: the staff was hard to find sometimes during the class. There were plenty of staff members there, I just kept forgetting who they were since they didn't have nametags or aprons or anything to identify them.

I enjoyed the small class as it felt more personable and by the end all of us were chit chatting and having a great time. Our instructor Kim was very helpful and fun. The event was 3 hours which I think was perfect. I liked that we painted and then took small breaks to let the paint dry. It wasn't just paint, paint, paint. The shop is super cute and very clean. I can't wait to go back for another Sip n' Paint event or a glass fusion class! Kim said she wanted to try doing a jewelry making class which I would definitely attend! If your looking for a relaxing and fun night out with your girlfriends, significant other or anyone I highly recommend checking one of these events out!

This is one great resource for all your costume and makeup needs. The owner, Debbie, was extremely helpful and made some great suggestions that worked for me, even if it didn't bring any business to her shop. She definitely puts the need of the customer first and profit last. That is such a refreshing change. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this long-standing small business that is definitely an amazing resource to our community. Her rentals are no hassle and affordable perfect for schools or fraternities. I am looking forward to visiting with Debbie again soon. My Rudolph costume is going to be a hit, and she made it simple but awesome! Thank you, Debbie. Respectfully John H

We talked to her beforehand about being careful with it in the store as she always has been. Upon entering the first words from the staff were about asking us to take it from her. There was an older man in there talking about Excitement Video (inappropriate). Definitely not an environment that I'd suggest taking children to. Not to mention the costumes I did see were ratty looking and incredibly overpriced. I let the staff know it is not their place to try and parent. A woman explained she was the owner and that they didn't allow food or drinks (seriously?). She was more interested in speaking over me than listening. It's a lollipop, not a milkshake. Previous reviews state a dog is frequently in the store. So a dog is apparently more capable of being clean and respectful than a human? Anyway, I would suggest shopping on Amazon or going to a Spirit store. Anywhere else but that shop. Incredibly bad experience (condoned by the owner) and I will NEVER do business with them again.
