The battered wonton mozzarella sticks were good, but not unique (I'm pretty sure it was Riverside Foods brand from Restaurant Depot). With other options around for a fish fry, I likely won't return.

We ended up staying for hours because the vibe was that good. The owner and staff were an absolute joy: warm, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around. Bonus points for the 2-for-1 drink specials because yes, we absolutely got lit here. As a vegetarian, I felt fully seen because they went out their way to make me veggie tacos that were so good I'm still thinking about them. Drooling. They also offer pizzas and other food options, so everyone wins. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming energy, and a space you actually want to linger in. We all have our favorite bartender for mixing a drink a certain way, not sure how I feel about developing loyalty to a machine. The owners did an incredible amount of remodeling to make the Garden Lounge what it is including a poured concrete bar top. A really nice upscale atmosphere for downtown West Bend. A definite worthwhile date night or after dinner destination. There are no windows to the outside, making it the perfect spot to transition from morning coffee into day drinking and being blissfully unaware it's the middle of the day They offer homemade frozen pizzas and a handful of appetizers to boot. I don't know if this is the menu all the time or just late night. I had the Reuben and a Guinness draught, it was a solid sandwich with kettle chips and a pickle spear. The draught was a good solid pour. The service is nice and quick. The Kilkenny cream ale is also a good pour. The chocolate mascarpone cheesecake has a chocolate crumb crust, it's a nice light chocolate mouse like pie, its a bit sweet for me, but fine for a restaurant grade bulk dessert. It's a nice place, lots of room to move, good for large and small groups. I'll keep this on my short list for when I'm in the area again.

I came to find out someone stole an American flag and Thin Blue Line flag (Law enforcement support) in the recent weeks and that was a shame to hear. There is a fenced in smaller outdoor patio on the east side of the building. As you can imagine 9 non locals walking into a bar at 1130am could be met with stares or with hellos. We received many hellos and the bar staff was prompt to take our orders. A majority of us ordered a Bloody Mary and we're all glad we did. They were amazing with a spotted cow chaser. The space was completely remodeled with a modern western feel. It did not take away from the age of the building. The large horseshoe bar was comfortable and spacious. The staff friendly and Made you feel at home and welcome (doesn't hurt the manager/owner was very good looking) the food now that the kitchen is open was awesome! The wonton wraps.... omg! 3 choices of cheese wrapped and fried so delicious.. now that i know it's under new ownership i will definitely be going back. I'm going to try the fish fry next.
