"I don't know how to say goodbye. I can't think of any words." - Audrey Hepburn (Roman Holiday)
CIAO LOVERS!:
First, Paola is an Angel... and how appropriate that The Pope's Window is located in Vatican City. Imagine waking every morning to the bells of St. Peter's Basilica. Imagine walking historic cobble stone roads to the Sistine Chapel! It's less than a Andrea Bocelli aria away! Imagine being in the heart of the Holy See that dates to the beginning of Christian Knighthood! Sounds like a movie? It's my life lol.
A BED & BREAKFAST:
I was really looking forward to staying at The Pope's Window and meeting Paola! Although not much info on Yelp, I did my research and found this amazing Bed & Breakfast from my Orbitz account. The reviews are off the charts from Trip Advisor, Orbitz, and the couple reviews on Yelp. I adore Bed & Breakfast stays... I find it more intimate, more caring, and the people tend to be more personable. Yet, with all that Holy good feelings I'm tossing your way... Paola (who runs the 5-rooms B&B) takes it up a notch... she's an absolute Italian treasure!
WHEN IN ROME:
My plans to add Rome to my European vacation was via serendipity. And on a whim I was on a flight to Roma! I had all the major landmarks bookmarked, but highest on my list was visiting the Vatican in Vatican City. Born a Roman Catholic, former altar boy, and loving Pope Frances like cray, it was an absolute must in my lifetime. Finding The Pope's Window and Paola was a Holy Moly!
PAOLA THE ANGEL:
Paola kept in contact with me via emails as my arrival was near. We spoke via phone when I reached Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. She asked if I needed a ride she could arrange, but I politely declined knowing I already had a train ticket to the heart of Rome. A tour bus would then drop me off at the door of the Holy See.
THE POPE'S WINDOW:
The Pope's Window is located in a classic Italian building, in a historic part of Vatican City. "Ciao!" I was warmly greeted by Paola - like I've known her all my life! "Utopia" was my room which is the first room as you enter the 3rd floor. It was perfect for my self, though it easily sleeps two, and I believe a third too. The other rooms are more for families. Decor whimsical, yet classical. The bathroom sparkling clean with all the modern amenities to freshen up after your walks around Roma. I could live here...
Although I could only stay for a couple days Paola made sure I had little snacks and something hot to drink before I left. After a whirlwind romance with Roma it was time for me to say Arrivederci. The Pope's Room was everything I could have hoped for and more! Paola is an angel!
TI AMO:
In the end, I highly recommend The Pope's Window to all who are into intimate Bed & Breakfast stays. Mmk, I admit I hesitantly share because I want it all for me! Aww well, my inner angel always wins in the end so it's my gift to you. The Pope's Window was perfection in my European eyes. And the best part? I made a forever friend with Paola in my journey through this lifetime. I already have plans on staying here the next time I'm in Roma! Ti Amo! read more
