No company before or since has mentioned any resurfacing needed. I dropped the service after no shows, no return calls etc. too many times of "I'm sorry".

Once the sale was complete we got good service for about a year, then no returned emails or texts and a full voicemail box. Their "nationally certified chemists" looked like high schoolers that broke 5 pool lights, 5' of spa coping, the display panel to the control panel and a drain cover. They left the fill hose running in the pool all day and didn't tell us (which we luckily found that evening) and don't have service reports letting you know how the pool was treated (or when to stay out of it) The last line was that they didn't bill us for the monthly fee for 1.5 years but then sent us a $5700 bill. Both of us thought the other was paying, but when we went to cancel the service we realized we had not been paying at all. So the office staff is as bad as the customer service.

It turned green, full of algae 4 days after being 'serviced' I gave the owner multiple chances to make it right, but she blamed me for the issues. Like I purposely wanted algae growth in my pool in the middle of summer. This isn't the only issue I've had, there's been multiple over the years but I have been very understanding with staffing issues and people not showing up. I just think when someone is paying al3k a year for maintenance, it's not too much to ask for the company to take care of the issue immediately without an attitude.

They sent experienced and very knowledgeable technicians. They quickly found the problem, and provide the solution within a very few minutes. Within the hour, the pump was back up running. Scott's technician acknowledged the instruction to simply remove the pool alarm from the pool for the duration of the cleaning. However, he never did. This resulted in multiple family members getting the panic alarm of the pool having a child in it, every week. And he came at random days. Repeatedly, I asked him to take the alarm out of the pool, yet he would only do so after the alarm sounded, waking up the baby every single time. On the last activation, he said that "his instructions were wrong" and that he merely needed to remove the alarm for seven seconds which would put the system in "Swim" mode. That means the alarm is delayed for seven minutes, and then continued to sound. Cannot listen, was a complete ass when we said Hello to him (tech) at the house, and we are done, give up. We have found another service. Happy to provide video of this moron continuing to set off the alarm and the screenshot of his having acknowledged all he had to do was remove the alarm from the pool. PS The second-to-last time, when he set off the alarm, he THEN took it out of the pool and just LEFT IT THERE. This means there was zero protection for the two days until I discovered it outside the pool. This is pure negligence. When we decided it was time to put in a pool it was around the time that there were many pool…read morecompanies on the news in hot water for taking folks' money and running. I cannot remember how I discovered Salty Reef but when I spoke with Matt he seemed like the best fit for us. I appreciated how his payment structure was set so that we only paid for phases as they wrapped up (i.e. NO huge deposit). This came into play when we ran into some issues with the plaster company (long story) and Matt refused to demand payment until they came back, drained the pool, and acid washed/polished the plaster. Definitely a major inconvenience, however, Matt owned it until the problem was solved. Matt took an idea we had and certainly provided us with a pool that was better than we imagined and FAR superior to what Heritage was offering us. Most of the homes in our neighborhood used Heritage or Blue Haven. Heritage wanted an insane amount of money for things Matt included standard. For example, we ended up getting a tanning ledge and Matt included bubblers and an umbrella post holder. Heritage wanted $7,000 plus to install that. Also, Heritage wanted to grade the land from the pool ledge down to the lawn....this would have looked horrible the way our lawn sloped as evident by the final product each of our neighbors received. Matt immediately noted that a retaining wall was the best option and he charged us a very fair price. When we came to settle the concrete decking portion (that included the retaining wall), Matt actually charged us less than the estimate based on actual concrete used. One thing I learned during this project that patience is a virtue when dealing with so many sub-contractors coming and going and I know Matt did his best to wrangle the cats. He was certainly level headed and patient during the process, particularly when I can be a pain to deal with sometimes. In the end, we have a beautiful pool with so many extras that Matt included in the standard build package. My family is beyond excited for the work Matt and his team did and we are extremely grateful for the effort.

The products he uses are quality, the pool layout is well though out and his overall customer service was fantastic. In our neighborhood we had three different pool companies building at the same time and I couldn't be happier on our choice. While our neighbors eventually got their pools completed by the other builders they had multiple mistakes, issues, and delays. I would highly recommend Matts company Salty Reef Pools.
