There are walking paths great for jogging and taking a stroll through the woods. My favorite part was the man made beach in the back at the comite river. The water only got as deep as my knee. It was nice to just play around in the water and play on the tire swing someone put up. We also liked to sun bathe on the sand bank. Some people made fires there at night. It was a nice and peaceful way to relax. It's a good spot to bring your dogs as well! Be careful though because we have stumbled upon snakes a few times on the trail path to the beach!

We paid nearly $20 per person in our group for entrance. If I could get my money back I would. The only English speaking people besides us were workers. Every cabana and bench around us were occupied dozens of Spanish speaking immigrants blasting their foreign music. This was supposed to be a wholesome family experience but instead it was ruined by obnoxious groups of immigrants. They don't follow the rules, they're rude, and they don't respect anyone around them. White sands lake beach could try to ask for proof of citizenship at the gate. This lady cannot take any criticisms and will keep trying to hide your review if it paints her in…read morethe light she chose. It's your own fault your business is falling apart lady! I visited this place this summer with my daughter and all I can say is WOW! This place has really gone downhill. Let me start by saying that my daughter and I have been here before. Despite all the reviews about how rude the older gentleman is, he has always been very kind to me as well as my daughter. Every time we used to go I would have a nice chat with him and eventually found out that he's the owner. We have always followed the rules and you could tell that he was genuinely concerned about the safety of the kids. Well all that has completely changed!! When we first got there my daughter went up to a lifeguard to ask her a question about the concession stand. This girl- probably no older than my daughter- would NOT get off of her phone for anything. It took my daughter THREE tries to get her attention because she was so absorbed in watching TikTok. I was stunned to hear this from my daughter, as the lifeguards have always been very attentive and strict about the rules, which puts my mama mind at ease. I tried to ignore this because maybe the owner can't make sure everyone is doing a good job all the time but NO! Later that day the older lady who let us in the gate came down to tell my daughter that her swim suit was "inappropriate" and that she "needed to cover up". I was floored when I heard her say this. There was absolutely nothing inappropriate about my daughter's swimsuit- I mean, come on, it's from Target! If it was inappropriate I wouldn't let her wear it. Not to mention all the other girls near us wearing the exact same style of swimsuit! This lady proceeds to tell me that it's their rule. "No thongs" I tried to tell this lady that what she's wearing isn't a thong but she wouldn't have it. She said because my daughter has a "big butt" that it is a thong. How disgusting that this old woman would sexualize my SIXTEEN year olds body. She is a very athletic girl and cannot help her "big butt". My daughter was very upset by this interaction and felt insecure when all we were trying to do was have a nice, relaxing day in the water. I tried to explain to my daughter that this woman was probably just jealous because she's never looked like her but she just wanted to leave after this interaction. Idk if this woman is the new owner or what but we will never come back!

But at the end of the day the only real problem was a group of local 40-somethings on TRT with their 3 pit bulls who were camping together in a group of 6. They basically hung out all day in lawn chairs getting hammered in the driveway section of their site (directly across from our site) basically just being d**ks. (there needs to be some sort of rule about pit bull kennels operating in a campsite)... But after they left, this RV campground became more calm and worth exploring and enjoying. There is a small lazy river, a large pool and a poolside bar. There is also a decent workout room available 24/7. The lakeside location of several camp sites was the draw for us, as was the evening entertainment while enjoying a few drinks. The campsites are all immaculate full hookup with excellent concrete pads. There are both back in and pull-throughs to accommodate most size rigs. It's only about an hour to New Orleans, so a sight-seeing trip there is easy to do. Very convenient to the I-10. Glad we stayed and we'd likely stay again when passing through.

The staff was very nice but not super informative (failed to give adequate info at check-in) or knowledgeable about the area (we needed an RV part and they weren't helpful even though there was two large RV stores very nearby). Our campsite was concrete with a patio, not level side to side. It rained quite a bit while we were there and there was a literal swamp completely surrounding our site. You couldn't get to the basement on the side or to the hookups without standing in water. The roads were fairly easy to navigate but many people parked out in the road which made it difficult to maneuver in the RV when leaving.

I read her review and found that most of her complaints were self inflicted. Severely dehydrated, she should have brought more water and maybe less alcohol. Bruised from head to toe. No employee from Gator's told her to swim into or pushed her into the logs. The staff is not knowledgeable of current river conditions. Did she ask them about current river conditions? If not, then she does not know the extent of their knowledge. Most people can look at a body of water and make their own conclusions. This river has a significant current and is full of logs. About an hour into our 5 hour kayaking trip our double kayak sprung a leak. Maybe it sprung a leak because they rammed it into a snag or two or ten. Not Gator's fault she can't steer the kayak. They flagged down someone and used their phone. So phones are allowed and have signal. Not Gator's fault they chose not to bring a phone. Upon calling Gators they said "what do you want me to do about it" and hung up. If a Gator's employee responded that way, THAT IS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. But what did she want them to do? She probably could not tell them where they were and if she could tell them where they were, to get to them in a timely manner would probably require trespassing (That is illegal). Many different people, including me, own property on the river. I do admit that maybe all of the canoe rental facilities should be required to have a boat capable of traveling on this river readily available. I know the Sheriff Dept. does patrol the river routinely. Soooo we beached our kayak and swim for FOUR HOURS in 100 degree weather. They were ok with kayaking in 100 degree weather. If they were swimming in 100 degree weather, it should have been cooler in the water than in a kayak. As I stated at the beginning, JUST my opinion
