I have some amazing photos and incredible memories. One of the biggest reasons we chose this venue is because of the event coordinator Elaine. She is their best asset. She helped us plan every detail. She offered suggestions and advice as we needed if. She was always available and prompt with responses. She stayed from the time the girls arrived to get ready until late at night until everyone had their last drink. She made sure our night went perfect. We knew once we met Elaine we wouldn't have to worry about a thing. She is wonderful. The rest of the staff the worked at the event were excellent. They were fun, engaging, polite and friendly. They led the electric slide during some dancing. They also worked incredibly hard while they were chatting with us and all of our guests. They were always asking can I get you anything. They all went above and beyond during the entire night. The food was great. We had lunch while getting ready. It had sandwhiches cheese fruit chips and drinks. This was just the fuel we needed before a busy day ahead. Lori even came in to greet us and ask how everything was going and made sure we had everything we needed. During our cocktail hour we chose some apps that were yummy and perfect for while people were mingling. The meatballs and spring rolls were excellent. The cheese and olive tray with fruit and cheese were great The meal we chose was buffet style with steak tips, teriyaki chicken, carrots, mashed potato and dinner rolls. The salad was served at each table. The food was great lots of flavor and served hot. This is a fabulous location with so much to offer. Everyone there is wonderful. The issues: at $280 a night we felt the room was very dated (last updated about 20 years ago). The room smelled like bleach or really like how a senior living or care center smells which we spoke to the management about. The physical parts of the building, being quite old, showed various states of care/repair/disrepair/wear. Overall I dont see this at $280 but it was an ok stop. Management did acknowledge the issues and said the rooms not yet updated were to be done soon. Perhaps verify if your room choice has been done if reserving. I give it a 2 star towards 3 but price keeps it at 2 in its current condition.

This time, for the night of Sept 7, 2025 myself and a bunch of friends booked a few suites and a few rooms for an event in Sidney, Maine. We didn't book as a group, but we got lucky and 3 of our 5 rooms were on the 4th floor. We got back late and stayed up a little late catching up-so I asked for a late check out, which they obliged and gave me till noon. I got up with plenty of time, but if you know this place it's a bit of a maze and I had to go find a bell cart. I was loading up the bell cart at just a few minutes past noon then I was putting trash in the baskets and doing a last bit of tidying...when as I was literally about to walk out the housekeeper on the 4th floor started yelling at me...it was past time. I said, "I know (like doesn't she see the cart?) I am walking out now". This lady clearly has never worked with customers before (or maybe she is one of the reasons this place has abysmal reviews?!?!?) because even as I walked out she went on and on about how I wasn't honoring the sacred oath I took when I accepted the late check out...I'm only half joking...this lady was actually having a good time speaking to me like a child even though I was already leaving (oh and I took my tip I had left them because I was so pissed). This lady doesn't belong around people in any capacity. We all agreed otherwise we had a solid stay but this left such a sour taste in my mouth. People have options and if this was my business I would want to know how people are being treated. Sure, I was running a few minutes late. Maybe I should have been executed!?!?! I booked this location 4 months in advance for my wedding to have a suite space big enough for my…read moresisters coming in from out of town and myself to stay in near our wedding venue. I made the mistake of being the person to pay for the room because they have a policy that you can't stay there if you live within 30 miles of their property. So day of the check in/day before my wedding they called and canceled my room! They didn't care that everyone else was from out of town. They even said they couldn't allow us to rebook under one of their names because they now knew that one of us lived within the 30 miles! She asked if I called or booked online and when I stated I booked online, she stated "if it was my wedding and that important I would have called" she proceeded to be rude and nasty and practically laugh at me while I panicked over them canceling my wedding suite day of. Ps they don't give any explanation as to why they even have that policy. We had other guest staying at the hotel(from outside their 30 mile policy) that they then refused to let cancel their rooms so that they could go to the new hotel location we were forced to move to. WILD!
