On attending the above-mentioned premises, I was unfortunate to be handled by a waitress, Amanda whom it appears has not been adequately trained in the basics of customer service.
I was disappointed in her surly attitude when asked why she was not serving customers in the order they had presented at the counter (most were in a line) and was given a throwaway line about the customer she had served out of sequence she had in fact been serving them originally. In that case then her actions towards that customer were shameful, why had she seen fit to make that customer wait whilst she served others. A query was put forward to her as to why the Pizza Pub advertised one price online and charged another when customers presented, I was personally given two different excuses by two different staff.
I waited for my receipt from Amanda (as the previous customers had received, and when she started serving another customer, I asked for my receipt only to receive a verbal tirade about how customers don't want receipts. Unbelievable, reiterating I had just witnessed her giving the previous customers receipts. On requesting her name, she waited about ten seconds before loudly stating Amanda, which made a number of people turn around and look.
On speaking to another staff member about her conduct I was told she was under pressure as it was busy, and their company website was correct, I must have been looking at another website. I had to bring up their website on my phone before a third staff member acknowledged I was indeed telling the truth. He advised there was no manager onsite which was unfortunate.
A business can have okay food but when the staff are rude and dishonest and not willing to apologise when making a mistake it does not bode well.
I love eating out at locally owned food outlets but will definitely cross this one off my list, at least until they get better staff. read more
