It's really good, it has really good deals, like a slice of pizza and a drink, etc. I recommend the pizza market 100%

I still can't believe how many pizza places are in this small town. I still scratch my head…read morethinking about it. But Truro is obviously a pizza loving place. We have tried the pizza from every place in town that sells it and we keep going back to Pizza Farm. The pizza is always consistently great and the delivery is either early or right on time. We have never experienced a late delivery yet, and we order a lot of pizza. The topping portions are always good and the cheese amount is perfect. Too little and it's not worth calling it a pizza, and too much is just a mess.

Coming from Pictou County, I know a thing or two about pizza fanaticism. Anyone that moves away…read morefrom here will bemoan the lack of our beloved pizza, especially if we have a drink or two in us, which has the dual effect of making us both hungry and nostalgic. There's a couple other areas in the province, primarily Truro and Sydney/Cape Breton, whose expats extol the virtues of their native pies. I'm likely not going to make it up to Cape Breton anytime soon, but I had been looking to try Truro pizza while going to or from New Glasgow. After a couple failed starts due to either me forgetting or places opening later in the day on Sundays, I was recently able to give it a go. Looking to just grab a slice, I hit up Pizza Farm under the advice of a friend who grew up here. The slice of pep and cheese was a good size, about a quarter of a 12" pizza, and came in at a reasonable $4.50. It  looked normal enough, certainly nothing along the lines of the unique brown sauce of Pictou County pizza. The cheese seemed to be a bit more generous than the generic Halifax pizza shops, and the crust somewhere between Halifax's and PC's in thickness.  Taking a bite, it instantly reminded me of the Mia's Pizza shop that used to be in New Glasgow. The sauce was on the sweet side, but not as cloying as some sweet sauces in the city, while the bread also had the hint of sweetness that Mia's had. Despite being a slice in a warmer before the supper rush, the crust was still crispy and had a pleasant chew to it. The crust was was definitely given more attention than it is in Pictou County, where it is unfortunately often just an afterthought only counted on for being thick enough to handle all of the sauce and cheese.  The cheese even had the same sort of short stringiness that Mia's had, as opposed to the long swathes of mozzarella on pizzas a little further north. The pepperoni seemed to be a run of the mill pepperoni, not Brothers, but of reasonable quaity. All in all, it was a decent slice of pizza. But are people mailing these pizzas across the country, or national grocery stores selling the pizza sauce? No. While the story may be different for a different pizza joint, or type of toppings, I think it's safe to say that some locals' claims that they have better pizza and their expats are as fervent as PCP lovers, just don't hold up. However, it's still better than the sad efforts of the local chains of mediocrity in Halifax, and I'd have no qualms in eating it again.

Driving out of the HRM in a heavy downpour, I stopped off in Truro (parts of Robie Street were…read moresubmerged) and headed for Greco Pizza/Captain Subs (cobranded store) in front of the Truro Mall. There was a Greco Pizza Xpress (counter) inside the mall (no longer there)/ This standalone location offers pizza (slices & whole pies), donairs, subs, pita melts, quesadillas, salads, sides, sweet treats (they have Otis Spunkmeyer Cookies), and cold drinks. Combo deals from both Greco Pizza and Capt Sub are offered here. On Toonie Tuesdays, pizza slices are $2 plus HST. I saw they had several kinds of pizza slices to choose from behind the glass case, so I ordered the Combo 1 a slice of deluxe pizza and a Diet Pepsi ($4.10 plus tax). The pizza slice was reheated up in the oven and ready in about 5 minutes. The good sized pizza slice (actually cut into two slices) looked pretty good, which was topped with green peppers, onions, sausage, & bacon and melted cheese browned on top of a thin crust, crisp and firm outside and soft and chewy inside. However, the taste of the pizza was very salty and I definitely needed a cold Diet Pepsi to wash things down.

I went to Greco to get captain sub on January 10, 2026, and I ordered my sub. A gentleman came in…read moreand he gave the cashier some physical cash that she handled with her gloved hands and put in the register. When she was done, my sub was coming out of the toaster and she walked to it ready to grab it with the same gloved hands she just touched the cash with. I thankfully stopped her before she touched my sub and asked her to change her gloves of which she did. If I never said anything, I'm more than confident she would have touched my sub with her dirty gloves. very disappointing
