The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

I never write comments like this hut I am very frustrated and would like this escalated to corporate. **Date/Time of Incident:** April 19, 2026 at 10:15 AM - **Location:** Equinox San Ramon - **Reservation:** I had a paid Kids Club reservation. - **Issue at Check-In:** - I was informed by Assistant Manager (Xavier) that the Kids Club would be closing at 11:00 AM, just 45 minutes after I arrived. - I did not receive any prior notification, despite having a reservation. - **Communication Concern:** - I asked why I wasn't contacted in advance; Xavier explained it was due to a staff member being out sick. - I expressed that while I understand staffing issues, I expect proactive communication. - I rely on these reservations and spend time preparing my children and traveling, so last-minute notice at check-in is not acceptable. - **Customer Service Experience:** - I felt my concerns were not being heard or acknowledged. - Xavier repeated the same explanation without addressing the inconvenience caused. - No apology was offered. - No alternative solutions or accommodations were provided. - When I expressed disappointment, I was told "that is your prerogative." - When I stated that i dont feel heard nor do i feel like that customer service is a priority based upon facts not perogative xavier repeated again that was my prerogative. When i stated are u derstanding what the meaning of prerogative was, Xavier made a dismissive comment referencing he has a 4 education . At no point has Xavier in any of my interactions with him ever provided or contributed to an idea towards a solution that could work for both the gym and member. He simply repeats what happened robotically without empathy for the member's side of the situation. - **Escalation Attempt:** - I asked to speak with a manager and was told by Xavier none were available. - I was informed the manager would return the next day. - I asked for a corporate contact number and was told by Xavier that was not available. - No alternative way to file a complaint or follow up was offered. - xavier also turned his name badge around so i couldnt see his name. - **Pattern of Ongoing Issues:** - This has happened to me at least three times within the last 6 months arriving for a Kids Club reservation only to find it closed due to staffing shortages. - Each time, Xavier has been involved. - Each time, the response has focused on staffing limitations without acknowledging the member experience or offering solutions. - **Core Concern:** - I understand staffing shortages are sometimes unavoidable. - What I do not accept is the lack of communication and accountability. - I believe it is a reasonable expectation that members with reservations are notified in advance via phone, text or email if the Kids Club will be closed. - **Impact on My Experience:** - I am wasting time preparing my children and traveling to the facility unnecessarily. - This creates a significant inconvenience as a parent. - The experience does not feel customer-service oriented nor family-friendly. - **Reputation Impact:** - Based on these repeated experiences, I would not recommend this location to other parents. - I have already begun recommending alternative gyms, such as Lifetime, to other families. - **Positive Note:** - I have found all other staff members to be pleasant and professional. - My concern is specifically with the leadership, communication, and customer service approach demonstrated by Xavier.

Yes, it's not cheap for monthly membership, but there's good value here. Two story building. Membership representative is helpful and resourceful. You can find all kinds of classes and exercise activities upstairs. Loved the cycling/spinning room with large screen too. Amazing place. For an extra $50 per month on top of membership fees, the Recovery area looks most attractive/my favorite. Cryolounge, compression therapy, float therapy, red light therapy, cold therapy, and more! Perfect sauna inside and all the machines are high tech/new/clean/well managed. Not bad for not having to drive elsewhere for recovery services. Women's locker room toilets need better cleaning/managing. It was a mess inside during morning hours. Overall, locker room looks fantastic and very functional. Kids area is separate. So far so good. Great impression, other than the high fees/costs and 30 days advance membership cancellation notice may keep people wondering. They only accept month to month payments. I ordered the "Super Antioxidant Cup," which is supposed to include bananas and fresh berries, but nothing in the bowl appeared fresh. It seemed like some type of juice was used to blend it, and I didn't see any fresh or frozen fruit being added. The "bananas" were actually banana chips. Paying $11 for something made with what felt like fake or misleading ingredients was very disappointing. Definitely not what I expected.

I was a former USTA player and I coached in college for my college's camp so I know a thing a two about coaching tennis and good customer service. Whether you have space to take a child in or not, you should always circle back. In the end of the day, everyone is connected and to one another and I'll say this, Euro Tennis is way better with better customer service than here. I grew up learning to play tennis by my dad. All was self taught through him. We weren't a rich family, but we were raised with values that took us far in life. I don't know what values these tennis coaches have here, but I'll say this.. poor customer service doesn't get very far. My ultimate goal was just to get my 4 yo and soon to be 5 yo to just make friends and get to know the sport that I love very much. I suggest all parents to go to Euro Tennis. Better customer service and lots of options. At Euro Tennis, they accept kids of all kinds. They have patience. And their focus is just making sure the kids have fun. At 5-7 yo, the ultimate goal is to have fun and like the sport.

Anyone leaving those kinds of comments must've truly woken up on the wrong side of the bed to be that cruel and unfair. Let me explain why East Bay Sports deserves a five-star review. I've been bringing my son here since he could walk he started in the Little Kickers program and now, at age nine, plays in the soccer team division. We absolutely love indoor soccer, and this facility makes it such a great experience for families. The kids always have a blast, the field is consistently clean and safe, and the entire place has such a welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Chris, deserves special recognition. He's incredibly calm, patient, and professional even when parents get heated during games, coming up to him in his office raising their voices, he never raises his voice or loses his composure. You can tell he genuinely cares about the families and players who come here. This is a family-run establishment and the only indoor soccer facility in the area, which makes it such a valuable part of our community. Beyond soccer, they also offer batting cages (which are a ton of fun!) and host birthday parties that kids love. Whether your child is a toddler just learning to kick a ball or an older kid who's ready for league play, there's a perfect spot for everyone. You don't need to be a pro you just need to want to play, learn, and have fun. With so many classes and programs to choose from, I highly recommend East Bay Sports for any family looking for a positive, active, and inclusive environment.
