The catch of the day, which was cod and fell apart to touch. Finally, the steak which was large but a little too firm for the wife's liking. However, the star of the show was the best chips in Penzance (I know, CHIPS), triple cooked or dipped in liquid of the gods, I don't know how they are doing it but my wife had the take my fork away. Thanks for a lovely evening and a great place for a 'stop off' beer after a long walk.

The Longboat (Pub & Restaurant - with Rooms!) is a nice community pub close to Penzance Harbour,…read moreand a relaxing place to hang out in the evening. The range of beers is so-so, but it was the only time in Cornwall that I found an ale by my favourite brewery, Fullers of London (London Pride) - many pubs in the area are owned by or affiliated with St. Austell Brewery. The pub is of medium-size, with enough corners so you won't be disturbed when it gets busier. There is no outside seating area to the front, which is a bit of a shame considering the location. The beers are kept in good shape, and food also looked decent (I didn't eat there myself). The staff are down-to-earth and friendly and the décor, with its log timber ceiling, quite appealing. Beer prices aren't low, but they aren't anywhere else except at Spoons.
