They had frozen my account till March per my request due to the pandemic and I then asked them to unfreeze it. Well they started charging me immediately but I couldn't book any classes. I had to call them god knows how many times to get through and they said oh yeah they needed to some change in the system..next day I try booking a class and again the same thing..tried calling them again FOR A WEEK!..nothing happened. This went on one more time..by the mid of April I realized these guys are not going to be helpful so I cancelled my card. Guess what, then they start calling. So you guys SHAMELESSLY CALL ME TO STEAL MY MONEY WITHOUT GIVING ANY SERVICES BUT HAVE NO REGARD TO MY CALLS. and then the worst thing...they send my account to the debt collector! I try calling them again and still NO ANSWERS!... You guys aren't the only ones struggling during pandemic. To do something like this in the middle of all this nonsense is just heartless!

I'm a lifelong exerciser and most recently I've been practicing Pilates. The Bar features more cardio and the classes are more high energy, and with more participants. My quads and triceps are sore. The people in these classes are fit! The instructors are very welcoming, make sure to correct form, and are supportive and motivational. There's a bathroom/shower, water, cubbies, and childcare (!!!) available. The studio is large with barres on all sides and one Saturday class I attended was packed. (I'm not a fan of the carpet though) The Bar Method definitely makes an impact quickly. I'm pretty sore (in a good way). Though I won't cancel my Pilates membership, I will consider a class pack. Right now class packs are 25% off.

My friend invited me to brunch at Midtown Athletic Club (they are a member). I visited Midtown before as a prospective member so I know that guests can only enter a limited number of times. We went upstairs past the cardio machines (they are plentiful) and the weight area to the cafe. There are tables and booths that overlook the outdoor pool area (closed for season). It wasn't a large brunch but we had some made-to-order omelets, bacon/sausage and fruit. There was also some potatoes and pastry. When I sat down to eat I received a text from Midtown about a membership. The brunch was bottomless although one omelet was enough for me. I also had two emails from Midtown when I got home, one a waiver of liability and the other a membership offer. I didn't join as a member on my previous visit and I am not going to join now. I already have a Pilates membership that includes three studios with classes from 6am-8pm. Midtown has a Pilates studio but none of the class times work for me. They also have some reformers in the middle of the cardio area reserved for private lessons. If I have a private lesson I would prefer to be in a secluded area, not in the middle for all to see. The facility has many machines, a boxing area, a cycling studio, a theatre, a spa, a cafe, courts, pool, etc and this is a great place for those who need this. There are families who spend the morning at lessons, classes, workouts, then join up in the cafe. This is great for those who are looking for this but it doesn't fit my needs right now.
