Because it was a school event, I let him know on Tuesday that we could not pre-pay for services, only pay after services were rendered, so we'd have a check ready for him on Saturday night. He never responded that that was not acceptable and instead emailed over an invoice. Fast forward to Saturday night when our event starts at 8pm, I call at 7:15 to check on their arrival time since they were supposed to arrive at 7:00 for set-up. No response, but I get this text at 7:33pm: (See photos) Beware.

Four hours before my event, she emailed me to let me know she would not be showing up due to an emergency. I was promised a full refund in 48 hours. 48 hours passed and I did not receive my refund so I opened a dispute with PayPal and eventually got my money back, but for a few days I thought I had been scammed. Not only was all of this a huge inconvenience, but my family was denied the opportunity to capture precious memories at a once in a lifetime event (surprise anniversary party for my parents).
