I inquired if I could change the appointment time, and the owner texted to inform me how busy she is, and that my appointment was cancelled. I guess this was some sort of 'punishment' for asking a question? I would have been happy to keep the original appointment time, but I wasn't given that option. It was odd from the start; I called and left a voicemail asking to speak with the owner, just to check if she has a non-slip surface my dog can stand on during the grooming. She wouldn't speak with me on the phone, only text. She refused to even address the question I asked in the voicemail. Overall, this was a terrible experience. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I've never seen a professional business operate so poorly, and treat customers with such disrespect. Added after business owner's comment: I would never in my life do any of the behavior the owner mentioned. This is a complete lie. She was frustrated because I asked if it would be ok to change my appointment time, so she cancelled my appointment. It was very rude. I've only left one other review on Yelp for exceptional service with a different business. I only left the review for Julie's business because I was treated so poorly. He tends to let go of his bowels when he's having his nails trimmed. I asked if they could handle that. the woman on the phone said to withhold food for a day, which I did even though I felt that was cruel. We went and my pup was nervous as some dogs are in strange places. She took him in the room and was talking to him gently, reassuring him. He did try to bite so she muzzled him, which I have no objection to. He continued to fight her and the next thing I hear is "you're a nasty dog". he evidentially pooped a little bit. I warned her, she said they could handle it. if she talks like this while the dog parent is standing right there I can't imagine how an animal is treated when they're dropped off for grooming and get nervous. I went back and held him so she could finish trimming. I paid we left, never to return!

My Parents live in Grantsburg, WI they have a small 6 year old dog named Molly…read more On Friday, August 27 2021 my father Richard Norum brought Molly to the Grand Journey Pet Lodge LLC. They had never Kenneled Molly before but used the kennel before with different dogs when it had different owners. When Richard Brought Molly in, the daughter of the owner checked Molly in and they discussed picking up Molly between 4:00 and 5:00pm on Sunday August 29. My Father arrived on location at 9086 Daniels 70, Siren, WI at 3:00pm August 29th. he was an hour early and went to the door.. it was all locked up with many dogs barking and not a person in sight. He saw several cars by each building but no people. This was concerning so he thought there may me someone inside needing help. he called the police to do a safety check at the address. The Burnett county Police arrived around 4 or 5pm and searched the property. the officer was also concerned and looked thoroughly. he instructed my father to go home and await their call. at 6:30pm (3.5 hours later) the police called him and told him the owner and the daughter were home now and they could pick up molly. They were combative and made my father wait outside while they brought molly out. they said he needed an appointment and he had to leave and never come back.. said get this dog out of here too! My father tried to explain he was concerned and called the police for their safety and not to expose them. he wanted to pay too but they told him to get off the property. I suspect they often do not have anyone on site caring for the animals, and got caught. As there are no laws governing kennels in Wisconsin they may continue to do business. I highly recommend using a more professional group to care for your little ones.
