Bark Porch was the only groomer that was responsive to phone calls, was polite, and figured out a way to fit our pup in. The business is clean, efficient, and so kind. They were able to give our Ginger a great cut, and enjoyed her. As an Aussie, this takes a different kind of patience, and they promptly scheduled us for another appointment to keep her on schedule. For COVID-19, the business and staff where face masks, adheres to no contact (you take the collar and leash with you), and only allows one person in the store front at a time. The parking situation is difficult, so be prepared to navigate a tight parking spot. My favorite part is that they text you a picture of your pup when there are finished (see the photo)!! This is a top notch groomer that is personable and provides excellent service.

Every pet that I saw being dropped off or picked up during my time there yesterday was so happy and looked amazing! I have been boarding my horse at the North 40 Stables since May, 2017. Hay and water has always…read morebeen provided for the horses plus they are in a pasture with other horses. There is a shed for protection against the wind and cold weather. The barn has a small indoor arena that is so great for our cold winter days. There is also a nice big outdoor arena to use as well as an outdoor round pen. There are many places to go trail riding plus before the fields are planted in the spring and after harvest in the fall there are acres and acres of farm land to ride on. I really appreciate how I can come to the North 40 at anytime during the day (any day) to take my horse out of the pasture to ride, groom him or whatever I want to do that day. The North 40 is located right off of the highway so there is easy access to it. When we get snow in the winter the Wickums are quick to move snow so we can drive into their place with no problem and get to our horses. My horse is in great shape and I'm grateful to be able to board here.

The…read morefirst place we boarded introduced us to horses, but we never knew what "mood" or what obstacles would greet us. North 40 is spotless, a beautiful outdoor arena, an indoor arena, and better yet a path kept on 20 acres to do outdoor riding, weather permitting in winter months. Summer months have safe outdoor riding, and the fall brings hundreds of acres to enjoy. The owners ALWAYS have water and hay, many areas for horses to get out of wind/cold. This winter, our horses look better than ever. Last spring, at the other place, spring brought "ribby" looking horses, now they're so round their cinches are too tight I signed a contract, which includes my emergency vet info. Wes and Rhonda are very respected people in the horse community, ALL of the vets refer clients to their stables. We have seen horses traveling from Canada to the USA and vice versa, always taken care of, zero complaints. North 40 has made our days of riding enjoyable again, stress free, and in the cleanest place around! The owners even send videos occasionally of our horses enjoying themselves with their pasture mates My daughter and I are in better health mentally and physically, thanks to boarding here. Our horses have never looked better. Happiness = North 40

This is to attempt to cover up the bad smell that they pick up after they are there. It is extremely obvious when having your pet in your vehicle with you for the next few hours. Always make adoption your first option!…read more I'm definitely an advocate of adoption. So many puppies and kitties deserve good homes. The animal shelter in Minot is very small and they don't actually have that many animals (I'm hoping because there's not a lot of stray animals in the area). This looks like a good shelter and the dogs and cats looked taken care of, the dogs were happy and energetic. 4 stars only because I feel like it could be a little cleaner.

I was told by whom ever answers the phone that it would $150 to surrender said animal (even though it was not mine) and that their waitlist was so long that it could take weeks or months to get the dog into the shelter which I responded with "my dogs are aggressive towards strange animals and it's not safe for me to keep it" and the person replied with "I'm sorry, we can put on the list if you want" but according to one of SVAS recent Facebook posts (August 10th 2022) they claim they no longer have a waitlist but upon reading the latest Dakotan article published (August 27th 2022) about SVAS, it seems that they still do have a waitlist but now just for animals with "medical challenges"? To me, a waitlist is a waitlist. Thank goodness for the other local rescues in the Minot, ND area. Another rescue promptly took the dog in without anything in return. I was happy to donate a collar, leash, and a very nice kennel to them for taking the dog off our hands. Secondly, after asking multiple questions through comments on Facebook for SVAS to answer about SVAS potentially bringing in multiple dogs from out of state, they not only deleted almost everything I commented, which was in no way rude or "trolling" they had the audacity to call my old place of work and tell the manager that I was "slandering" SVAS. SVAS's social media coordinator or whomever else monitors their Facebook page went out of their way to go to my profile to see where I worked, called said business, and tried to tarnish my reputation. Having a bad experience and trying to learn how one operates their 501c3 non profit is not slander. Calling someone's place of work to try to get them in trouble is slander though

You can actually hear the perforation flapping as he breaths. He also vomits soon after he drinks water and isn't as chipper as he once was. His eyes are sunk in and I suspect he's always on the edge of dehydration because of the water vomiting. I now have to take him to another vet to fix this issue, which is going to cost me hundreds of dollars or more to fix The Pet Vet's careless screw up. So, a sarcastic "thank you" goes out to Sharon Otto Tafelmeyer, The Mobile Pet Vet, for "allegedly" injuring my dog worse than when I brought him to you. **A word of caution to those of you who are seeking a new veterinarian in the area, you get what you pay for.
